You are correct sir :)
Waiting to put an order in for one now once they are available

I have a bonestag tribal lock due in April. The mailman will be here tomorrow with a Pilot Run of the Tribal lock in Amber Bone.

Just received the 2017 Tribal Lock. First impressions....excellent W&T and F&F. No blemishes, very sharp, and very large. It's way bigger than I normally carry, but it's so nice that's going to change. If it was about 3/8" smaller it would make me happier. That doesn't make it any less a winner. Here are some quick snapshots. Mark side open and closed, pile side, and a comparo to a GEC 73.

Edit: I've already changed my mind about the size. It's nice to have a "full sized" knife. It would still make a fine model at 3 5/8" but who am I to question Mr. Bose.

Very cool. Thank you!

Nice, too bad Case didn't have a larger font size ;)

Nice images as a comparison. I like the endcap , the size and the bone. Anxious for them to make it to Canada. I already inquired with my regular knife shop but I am a bit premature it would seem to actually order.

,,,Mike in Canada

That would be some size knife then Gary. I guess the font was made for an old timer like me. It was considerate of them. I don't need my glasses, lol.

Mike, if the size 4 1/8" closed is for you, then you will really enjoy this model. I know it's a second cousin to a Bose design original but its DNA is there.

I wouldn't be too concerned about it. The colors and jigging in the first photos released (prototypes or whatever you want to call them) are usually a little different than the actual knives. Not sure why that is but I've noticed this myself with several of the annuals. For example, scroll down to post #37 in the link below. It's the prototype pictures of the 2015 Cattle Knives.

And here's what mine looks like. Quite a bit different than the protoypes in color and jigging and more on par with the Antique Jigged Bone of past Case/Bose collabs.

That being said, I highly recommend buying from a dealer that shows photos of the actual knife you will receive. If you pre-order or buy from a dealer that only supplies a stock photo or a photo of just one example, you may or may not like the color/jigging of the knife you actually receive. These are expensive and worth the trouble to know what you are buying in advance.

Great post. I have definitely found the same thing. My one Case/Bose collaboration looked very, very different in person. If at all possible buy in person or from actual photos of the knife. These are expensive after all.

What makes a Eureka Jack so special? Coffin Jack was simple because of it's shape.

Is there a particular reason that you want a current production Case/Bose collaboration knife? Every pattern isn't going to appeal to everybody and many of the past collabs can still be found new in box. If you want a Coffin Jack you could probably find one in new condition. With a little patience you could likely have one in your hand long before the Eureka Jacks are released later this year.

I can't tell you what you like but in my opinion, the Norfolk is one of the finest Case/Bose collabs ever made. It's really a sweet knife. Especially in person. Virtually everybody seems to like it and you could probably snag one of these too in new condition with a little patience and diligence.

Get what you like of course but the Norfolk is my recommendation. It's a hard knife not to like.

Bob, I think I remember when you got that Norfolk just a few months ago. I know you must be enjoying it immensely. Great pics!

+2 on the Norfolk. I keep looking. Last I checked there was actually one at Case. Damascus

The Norfolk is a wonderful knife. You wouldn't regret it.
Here's another that's high on my list of best collaborations. The Lock-back Wharncliff Whittler from 2014.
