Case Copperheads- pics and experience wanted

Yes, frustrating...
I have a new one delivering this week, so fingers crossed. I do not mind a little off-center, but I don’t think it is too much to ask of an over $60 knife to not have the blade riding the liner right out of the box.

Hope you get a good one! Don’t forget to post pictures.:)

Bought from a dealer a month ago. This one is a good example of the quality Case can deliver. Great grind, no rub, wobble, smooth operation. Jigging is flawless. Paid under sixty dollars.

Just received my new CV Copperhead. The fit and finish is good for the price I paid. Blades are centered and snappy. My only complaint is that there is a minor gap on the pile side of the back spring. View attachment 1529137 View attachment 1529138 View attachment 1529139 No big deal for me. I love the red jigged bone handles. Would I be willing to spend $40-50 bucks more for a pinned shield and better fit and finish? Yeah probably but this one is going to be a user. :)

62C6434C-4E56-4DA9-A76F-AFF37E5F2619.jpeg Ive been intrigued by the copperhead and this was a good opportunity to check one out with the lizard skin scales. Here’s my breakdown. Lizard skin scales are nice, good color, just wish they would carry the jigging out further towards the bolsters. Modest pull, with good snap opening and closing. Springs nearly flush in the half stop position, and flush opened. Slightly gap along the mark side scale and the back spring. Pen blade well centered. Clip blade off-center towards the mark side, but doesn’t rub. Overall a nice knife for the money. Just your typical case fit and finish issues that I guess I’ve come to accept.

Looks really nice Matt! Great color, Lizard skin is the perfect name.;)

I've been following this thread for the last few weeks as I was looking to add a copperhead to my collection. I was disappointed with my only previous Case knife and a lot of the comments here convinced me to look at other brands. As a result I ended up getting a Boker that I really like. Other than a slightly proud pin and a somewhat weak spring on the secondary blade, I'm very happy with the quality.

This is from the Boker 'Traditional' series, which is their lower end, and is kind of a hybrid as far as where it was made. It says it's from Germany, but the parts are from elsewhere (China, Spain or somewhere else??). I'm assuming it just meets whatever the minimum criteria there is for calling it 'Made in Germany'.

Based on the quality of this knife, I'm thinking of getting one of the Solingen-made Bokers next (when the budget allows :().

At some point, I'm going to try Case again. They have so may patterns and interesting handle materials to ignore. I really like that lizard one above!

DLT Trading got the Copperhead in Amber Peach Seed Jigged Bone and CV steel the other day and I couldn't resist. :D

Great knife! It's slightly heavier than I was expecting, which I like since I'll likely be working this one hard. Fit and finish is great and it has one of the better grinds I've received from Case. The transitions from the bolster to covers could be a little better I suppose, but let's try to keep in mind that the knife doesn't even cost $60, lol. I'm going to give it a good sharpening and clean the polishing compound off of it, and then it's going in the pocket!

Can't decide between the CV jigged bone choices: red or amber. Both look fantastic. Might just wait to see what other single blade offerings they put out this year, although they're likely guaranteed to be true sharp stainless.

Edit: spelling

You're not wrong! I'll probably go with the best fit & finish and the snappiest walk to start with, but more than likely I'll be getting both.

Received this Dark Red bone CV copperhead a couple of weeks ago, but just got around to photos. Good snap and no play. No big gaps anywhere. Neither blade is centered. The secondary is right at the liner, but I can detect no blade rub. I'm satisfied with it. Its nice knife. I like the red bone handles a lot

This one, and the red bone cv jack I also bought, came in the new cv box. The yellow cv copperhead I have from this series came in the old style box. I wonder if this is going to be a continuing thing for the cv knives.

I think I'm done with this series.
The single blade black sycamore does look nice though ;)

Great looking knife (and knives)! I really like Case's red, jigged bone. Yea... Centering hasn't been Case's strongest area recently. I'm with you though, if the blade doesn't rub, I'm satisfied. Especially at the price.

My Copperhead in CV steel and Amber Peach Seed Jigged bone from this run came in the "Pocket Worn" style box.
