Case Tony Bose Collabs pic and discussion thread.

This knife has moved up many notches in my favorites category.

That is a beautiful pair Heirphoto Heirphoto ! I see that you got another Lanny! I like it more than your old one. It looks great. Congratulations.

I have to thank Signalprick Signalprick for the Cattle Knife. His glowing reviews caused me to grab this one when the right opportunity presented itself. I have to say that his comments about the Cattle Knife were spot on. It is a great pattern. My favorite thing about it is that it carries so well. At just over 3.5 inches closed it fits just right in your pocket.

However, so far, based on my very limited experience, I have to say that the Wharncliff Trapper is the best of the collabs. I do have an ebony locking Lanny on order so we shall see how that one ranks later this year.

Looking very good sir! Glad I could enable! :D

My Dogleg Jack arrived Friday and I spent the weekend with her. Very solid in the hand, not as hefty as I was expecting based on some other comments. It is a stout one, but pleasantly so. This one might become one of my favorites, but time will tell. Has a razor sharp edge on the ATS-34. She already bit me once. Millennium Trapper is supposed to arrive today. The collection (disease) is progressing!

Side question: Does anyone know if Case is on schedule with the locking Lanny's for this year? I would assume "no" with the shutdown, but didn't know if any of you had insider info. Cheers to another week!

beautiful dogleg. Congrats!!

I had email communication with a Case rep last week who indicated that - although some craftsman are working on repairs from home - essentially the factory has come to a halt. I suspect the release would be delayed but he did not say that specifically

I’m thinking that today’s the day I pull the trigger on an ebony cattle knife. I’ve been talking myself out of it for over 4 years. Am I crazy to buy this knife to be my everyday knife? I’ve read every word written about these and I’ve heard of a few being used but I plan to put this in my pocket to do anything I’d call on my buck 301 to do. Is this realistic for this knife or is it more of a weekend knife?

Just hit the red button and go for it, brother! Lol! I already lost out on 2 knives I've been eyeballing over the past so many months, when I had the extra money to make a move. Now when it comes to the subject at hand I have a couple of regerts.. I know I spelled regerts the Snickers way lol! But.. I do wish I made a move on atleast 1 of those 2 knives. These Case collabs are amazing by the way

I have the cattle knife in chestnut. Love the knife. A favorite among some Case/Bose collectors. Some say it is a little bulky for EDC but I don't feel that way at all. I think it's an outstanding pocketknife and I may get one in ebony myself. It is a completely stainless steel knife (with the exception of the shield on the ebony models; they are nickel silver) - so it is not only realistic that it be used daily - it was meant to be a workhorse.

If you decide it is not for you, you will have no trouble selling it on the exchange.

Thank you Ron.
That is exactly what I was hoping to hear from first hand experience. I shall show it the way home today!

If I had to sell all my slipjoint knives and keep 1 it would be my ebony Case Bose Cattle Knife and it's not even close! I'm not sure who in their right mind would call this particular knife "bulky" as Ron alluded to? Probably someone who only cares to carry single blade knives. It is less bulky than my Case Bose WT. IMO the overall dimensions of the knife are sleek and perfect. It's a definite workhorse and a real joy to own. If you like to carry 3 blade stockman patterns you will not be sorry with this one!

Ebony will undoubtedly stand the test of time. Does anyone have a side by side of a premium stockman and a cattle knife? The stockman on paper is bigger and heavier, but for EDC, I would assume cattle knife is better? Anyone have a different experience/thoughts?

you'll talked me into it. On its way to me from SC right now! Found it in stock at at a real good price. View attachment 1327267

Congratulations. They're kinda pricey, but I think you'll find it to be a good, solid knife, that was made to be used. If I had a do-over, I may have gone for the ebony, but this one suits me fine.

Now see I was torn between the ebony and that beautiful antique bone! Still not sure I made the right choice.

Yep off it goes. I am so bummed. Wanted to own this knife 4 years, finally pull the trigger and now I’ll be without it for 6-8 weeks. Normally I would just return it to the dealer but these are rather hard to find still in stock and I got a great deal ( bet I know why now...). Oh well first world problems right.

I had to send mine in for the same reason and granted this was a couple years ago but back then it only took about 3 weeks and it was perfect when I got it back. Still, considering a full custom done right and even close to this level of f&f in this same configuration will cost $800+. I say these are still a tremendous value. Yea, it sucks to have to send it in esp. for what they cost and it's not an excuse but it is reassuring that if you do it'll come back perfect.
