Case Tony Bose Collabs pic and discussion thread.

I was curious if someone knows if the LBW was the only Case/Bose collaboration made twice. Or is there another one?
Although they were the same pattern, which I like to think of as a Sleeve board lock-back whittler, the blades are different. I know you know this, Tim. Just tossing it out there for those who might not.

Maybe the Lanny one with a lockback the other without
The Lanny's Clips were my thought too. I can't recall another.

Further back in this thread D dennishy posted a list that I think is comprehensive and should help answer the question. I don’t think I can link it for some reason
but it should be on page 72

Thank you. I was just being lazy 🙂 and waiting for those who are more knowledgeable.
Yes, the Lanny with & without lock. Several variations of Trappers too.

Hmm... what's in the box?

Could it be?

Yes.

I like it. A lot. As with the Tribal Lock, almost the perfect size for a "not small" folder and fits my hand really well. I really want to get a Tribal Spear now.

Quick initial lookover. Seems to be some gunk/ discoloration in the nail nick. And a small amount of roughness on the edge (wire edge?). Everything is straight. Nothing proud or sunken. No gaps except the slightest sliver of light at the lock bar. No blade play. Action is snug, but not too tight. As with my EJ, metal edges are very crisp, not quite sharp enough to cut.

Not perfect, but a close match in the bone coloration. Both are brown bone.

I was on the fence about the bullnose trapper but it arrived today and wow, I think it is an awesome pattern. Opted for the fancy version, because the big blades really give a chance for the raindrop damascus to stand out and the molasses bone is freaking awesome. Fit and finish on this is almost perfect, bottom of shield sits just a little bit proud…View attachment 2280301

I’ve had a few….but the slimline is one of my favorites. The first pattern in the series, I recall when it came out and my local gun shop was a big Case dealer at the time. Seems like it was $350, a lot of money in 1999 for a knife.I didn’t know who Tony Bose was at that time. I found this re issue in damascus some years ago,

I previously mentioned how crisp all of the machined edges were on the EJ and LC. I've been handling them once or twice daily when I think about it while wearing a pair of mid-weight smooth leather gloves and rubbing the metal edges. The crispness has been knocked off, the EJ feels wonderful in hand. The LC is almost there, the area that still needs more work is the bottom of the shield - running the thumb up towards the bolster still catches skin, but it's not as grippy as it was.

That’s an amazing knife. I don’t own a slimline and regret not taking the leap when I saw one up for sale a while back.

Great pic!

So these were designed by Tony Bose and build by case correct ? Asking because of the price I was wondering if Mr Bose had anything to do with the building. Love them
