Cast Iron Beckerheads, Sound Off!

Such a beautiful day, we couldn't pass up cooking outside. I should mention that this thread has had more of an impact on us than anything I've seen on here. :D I just wish I could remember who started it.

The King took care of the cook wood just like it's supposed to (with some help from the FFA for the big stuff).

Tradewater,

That meal rocks man!

We do something like it with Kielbasa, taters, onions, peppers, garlic, and a sprinkle of lemon juice. All wrapped up in tin foil. No muss, no fuss.

I love cooking outdoors. When you consider the calories you burn compared to turning on the range in the house. It has to be better for you. Plus everything tastes better outside.

We have got to start a section for these recipies.

Too bad no one remembers who started this thread, it is really cool!

This is a great forum, I get hungry every time I log on here. Been also wanting to contribute, so I will give it a try.

In my No 12 Lodge Dutch oven I first started browning some Hamburg. Nothing fancy, just used my backyard fire ring, then I used charcoals and wood for my fire then let it get down to all coals before placing the dutch oven on top. (no coals on lid).
