CFK Knife update and company history

The biggest seller of Frankenknives on ePrey has 100% positive feedback.

Then we have the seller of this collection of parts who has 100% ePrey positive feedback.

Per 100% ePrey seller, this is an "Antigue Civl War Bowie"

So what does an ePrey feedback mean?

And what does "custom" mean on ePrey?

CFK Cutlery Company does not sell knives on Alibaba. This Alibaba account "QASIM BROTHERS TRADING.CO" has violated Alibaba's Intellectual Property Rights, and we are in the process of having the listing removed. The photo shown is from an old eBay listing that was sold last year and is an old photo of a Damascus tracker line no longer being sold with the yellow back drop logo. As soon as it get's resoled, I will post here.

No one ever said they (CFK) did sell on Alibaba. Just pointed out some neat coincidences. I don't know what you mean about the old ebay listing, but the ones I posted are active auctions right now on ebay.

If you're involved with CFK, feel free to clear this up right now by simply telling folks what company in England forges and grinds your blades? None of the knifemakers I have spoken with in the UK know about this outfit, and might even be able to give them a good bit of business. It would go a long way to improving your reputation, as well. Surely that would be good for sales.

Also, CFK continues to use the term "Tracker" to label and sell their knives. I am totally confused, because I thought someone else owned that trademarked term. If you're with CKF, could you explain that, so everyone knows you're not infringing on a trademarked term? I know we'd all appreciate it. I'm sure I have it all wrong, so I'd love to know the facts.

I guess one last question, since it was brought up by DrBulldog. The intellectual property rights that were allegedly violated on Alibaba, was it CFK's intellectual property, or someone else's? Does CFK own the IP rights to anything? It's good to have someone affiliated with the company in here now, so we can get answers straight from them, as opposed to all this speculation. Thanks in advance.

The photos you see on Alibaba from random Pakistan manufactures with our logo watermark or logo on the metal, are stolen photos from Google Images. There are more that 3 known companies that have used our photos from Google Images. There are 11000 Damascus knife adds on Alibaba, probably more are using our photos as well. We are working to resolve this. The watermarked photos were used on eBay listings in 2014, and are saved on Google Images.

I'm certainly sorry to hear of any piracy of your photos. I hope you get that resolved quickly.

What about all the rest of the questions, though? You've got a great opportunity to make your case here.

You guys should sue Benedicto Del Toro like crazy for copying your knife in that movie.

I'm referring to the term "Tracker." You have never been told that that term is trademarked by another company/individual?

I spoke to the President of TOPS when we first started on eBay in 2014 and he asked me to remove the "Tom Brown" words out of our Tracker listings. Tom Brown was the only licensed term in the listing that they owned the rights too. The word Tracker is not trademarked and refers to a pattern on knife. Similar to Ax, refers to what it refers to. It is a word that represents a concept of the tool.

I had read that Tom Brown actually had the trademark for the term "Tracker." It's quite possible that I was misinformed. If that's the case, good for you guys. I'll see if I can find out anything else on that to help clear it up for everyone.

So where in England do you guys have these blades forged and ground? England is such a fascinating choice for that work.

This quote "This full tang knife was designed by me and custom made by an outstanding and long time- Knife Makers Guild in England. Some of the finest bushcrafting knives I know of, come out of this Guild and, out of England for that matter. They execute my designs perfectly." This was made by Doug Wilson about some knives he had made for him by some other company. Doug makes Kydex sheaths for us as well as others and has his own connections to a knife maker.

If you read the other forums by Thomas Linton on bladeforums.com, we already discussed this and it is not related to us and was confirmed.
