Changing times! Updated CRK Lead Times

So if I place an order today will I get todays prices in 6 years?
I put an order in several months back for a Forever Flag 31 and their was something in the fine printing stating that the current price isn’t guaranteed but can change based on changing cost of materials etc

I wonder about the various wood inlays. CRK has been know to change the type of wood used for the inlays. With a 6 year window for something like a Mnandi does that imply that CRK is not going to change the materials used? If someone orders a Mnandi with bog oak but 4 years from now CRK drops bog oak does that mean all orders with bog oak inlays are automatically dropped?

Just a random thought.

I do not think they would just drop the order but rather when your order is next in their queue verify that you are ok with whatever wood they are replacing bog oak with.

But if we want something that dealers aren't stocking we still have to order direct, or can dealers make a request for a special piece and still get it faster?

My direct order was for something special that's kind of a combination of my Small Inkosi plain and Small micarta Sebenza 31 in S45VN -> a Small Tanto blade (special) Sebenza 31 in Magnacut (new) with dual thumb studs (special) and glass bead blasted frame (special) with brown micarta inlay (my tanto Inkosi has no inlay), and a gray beaded lanyard to match the frame (special) while my lanyards are black with no bead.

I can't get that knife from a dealer.

So, I found and snagged a small Sebenza 31 that's very close to my special order above from last month - small tanto blade in Magnacut, with glass bead blasted frame and dark brown ebony inlay, but black non-beaded lanyard and single right handed gold thumb stud and lanyard pin.

I already have spare beaded lanyards in three different colors bought separately - therefore the main difference in this new one I bought is the single thumb stud and the dark ebony inlay, instead of natural micarta inlay with dual thumb studs. Maybe I should have ordered something more creative.

If the wood inlay doesn't hold up with carrying it then I'll buy the special order one with the micarta inlay when it is ready, but if I wear out the wood inlay I'd like to consider having a custom carbon fiber inlay made for it.

What I know is that I'm also keeping my small Inkosi with tanto and no inlay, plus my small Sebenza 31 with black micarta, both in S45VN. But I also have TWO each of large Sebenza 31 and small Sebenza 31 all with natural micarta inlays - I don't need that many of each in natural micarta. Doh!

EDIT - New pics! The dark Brown ebony inlay looks black in the photos, but it's a trick of the light. IT DOES APPEAR THAT MANY PEOPLE CAN PICK UP A NICE CRK TO USE IMMEDIATELY FROM A DEALER LIKE GPKNIVES WHILE WAITING FOR THEIR SPECIAL ORDER.
