Hey folk. Just got home from the mountains. It was really nice! I did not even zip my summer bag up at night.Dead still at night too ! I had lost a little Old Timer Stockman last time I was up there and Jen found it ! It sat up on that mountain for almost two months(poor little thing must of been scared) and was not too bad of shape. I cleaned it up ,oiled and sharpened it and now it is back in my pocket. Jens family was at their cabin so we went to visit (and eat ribeyes):D If you are into football you might recognize the name Jim Hanifan. I hung out with Jen's Uncle Jim. That guy is a blast. He has Stories for DAAAAAAAAYS! I guess he coached for the Saint Louis Rams and was Head Coach for the Saint Louis Cardinals back in the 80's. He must have been good he was wearing two Super Bowl rings. We had a great time talking even though he doesn't know crap about knives and I do not know crap about football:D Y'all have a good night, I need to go scrub the grime off myself!

Good Stuff, Kevin!^
Hi Gang. I have a cool tanto friction folder coming today, made my Eric Bonner. He's a great guy, just like Daniel.

Besides FB and BladeForums, what are the 3-5 sites you check every day? I'm kind of embarrassed to say I never moved past the obvious sources.

Also, I can happily report that the TI tanto is just as good a bottle opener as anything else you might want to put against it. The 5 empties on my table attest to it!

Morning gang!

Kevin, sounds like you had a good time! I think you are the only person who knows even less about football than I do, lol!

Rolf, cool!

Darrell, besides BFC, I check in at Badger & Blade, Trad Gang, APUG.org, Range Finder Forum and a few others irregularly.

Finally got the emails sent with shipping info for the mini knife KITH, in the next two weeks people should b getting their knives in the mail. Small groups this year, don't know why. I'm going to try and get some of the regulars together to help me be cheerleaders for it next year. I may change the timing too.

Work again today, day 6 now...

Cool stuff guys!

Great story about finding the Stockman! very nice...

Hanifan, cool! I bet he had some great stories.

Sara and I just crack up, people stop me back home and tell me good game still...

Fricky on the way, very nice Rolf!!!

I need to check out FB...

This is the best knife site hands down... I used to be really active at some rock collecting/cutting forums but that's about it. I'm on some other knife oriented forums too...

Cool the Ti Tanto is popping bottles!

Xander I have to check out some of those sites! cool...

Mini KITH - man I should have participated, it was a lot of fun when I did... I think the economy and lack of experienced (yet still newer) makers may have had to do with it. I'm kicking myself for not busting one out. You did an awesome job with everything and I hope you put it on next year.

It's all top-secret stuff here! mostly... Folders and Fighters! I may need more steel for fighters... no clue why but I'm getting tons of requests for them.

Yesterday I worked on some bushcraft knives to mix things up. I think I'm going with a high saber/microbevel though instead of my usual chisel scandi... any thoughts? I ground one for testing and was very impressed. The chisel grind does great curls/woodworking either way. My goal with them is to have the most comfortable, well finished and well priced bushcraft knife on the market. It's a small run of 6. 61 RC!

Daniel- "Tons of requests." wtf?????????
:D

www.danielfairlyknives.com is where I get the most sales or requests from, then youtube and here...

Big things are happening with the Pocket Fighter but the requests are random I think, no clue why besides the knife is cool! If you google "antique ivory micarta" it is one of the only customs that pops up.

I say requests because I am wayyyyyy backed up on orders, if I hear a lot of feedback from my website (you can comment) I will do a run of a knife.

I'm trying to go to a "buy it now" format on my site (almost have it done!) so my knives are more accessible. I am getting a request a day on average for kiridashis from people on my site yet still sold them all here. KCT's, TiBOK's.... lately tons of fricky requests.

I'm keeping at it hard with no plans for expansion this year... in a year or two I may go to a larger shop with a helper to keep up with demand. Kydex, etc....

Gotta keep up on random knives for fun and try to stay disciplined too! So far this year I'm at over 60 KCT's, 50 Backpackers, 30 Kiridashis... folders are next! :D

Good morning y'all! It is good to be home I just wish I could have brought the mountain weather home with me. I am not liking this valley heat! I'm glad to see ya'll are doing fine! have a good one!

And you show no sign of stopping, Dan! Your work is top notch and I certainly try to promote it whenever I can!

Afternoon gents.

Good evening to you Rolf.

I remember now why I don't like working Mondays. I put my lunch in the microwave at 3:00pm,my normal lunch time. I'm just now sitting down to eat my cold again lunch. I had two of my regular customers come in, one bought his usual $500 worth of dog food, and the other just wanted to chat and chat, and chat... Nevermind the lady with her car smelling so bad of urine that it actually affects my allergies. Load her car up and there are still puddles of cat pee in the back! Its a 2 year old toyota SUV, too. It will never bee the same...

So, I sit back, catch up and relax for a few. Trim my nails with my Kershaw.

Hey Daniel, wanna trade lives for a while?! Warm Cali sun, lots of short skirts and low tops runnin around, crazy job. I'll give ya a break from them cold spells and slave labor you got going on up there at your compound! :D

:D I looked up the Bass, nice score! Great looking bass and it looks very versatile/playable! I like it...

I have a couple of basses and really enjoy playing... I busted out the guitar the other day and want to play more!

Cool!
What Basses do you have Daniel?
I love the short scale bass. Easy to play and I like the punchy sound. I would like to try playing a Steinberger some time. Just like Geddy Lee. :D

 Me too...

One is a short scale with a double cut away, kind of a Les Paul shape... probably worth about $45. lol! Plays great...

My other Bass is a Fender Lyte P-Bass! it needs a basic rewiring job, it had active pickups and had been dismantled before I received it... easy to do though

I mostly learned so I could record my own songs but played bass in a band in the VI for a very short while... borrowed a 5 string from the singer.

Steinbergers are cool! I hear they stay in tune very well... sound great!

I'm going to get back into guitar, I used to play quite a lot. I still remember everything but have gotten rusty in the last two years... Sara plays too. Guitar and keys..

Here's some Yngwie! The first of this song is easier than it sounds, awesome arpeggio lesson later on too! The harmonic part in the intro is the coolest...

Just got to work a few minutes ago. Managed to eject a sizable amount of my latté through the tiny hole in the cap onto me, my bike, and my glasses. One tiny little bump in the road and it turns into a squirt gun. Good thing I keep my work clothes in my locker.

Yeah, that ladys car is GROSS! She must have no sense of smell. Hell, she looks like she died three years ago and nobody told her yet. She's 78, maybe 5'2" and only about 85#, but she still drives herself around. Go stick your head into a dirty litter box and take a big whiff, that's close to what her car smell like, but the car is worse.

Old ladies like her are what pays me, she spends about $200/month on cat food. I have a couple that spend close to $500/month. I just shake my head quietly and take their money. The cats own them...

Its just further proof that cats are evil, they will colonize, drain your resources, take over your life and when you try to fight back the make you bleed!
