"Cheaper Than Dirt" Rough use knife

IOW, you haven't seen the test. Maybe you're scared to see it. Because your opinion bears no resemblance to the results of Noss' tests.

You can have an opinion. But I'm not sure what value it has to the thread when it seems contradicted by the results. You say you don't want to share your views, but you already have. It appears that is the only reason you bothered posting in this thread. So you won't begrudge me pointing out that your views appear willingly uninformed, prejudicial, and pointless in context.
Maybe my views are prejudicial.I don't want to buy that stuff mainly for political reasons and the moderators don't want those reasons discussed on the general forums.I hope that clears things up.

its not bad,for the money ;) i made more tests, but have not videos
PP: sorri for the bad english

It may supprise all of you...

What I find surprising is that you jump into a 5 year old post with nothing to add but another re-posting of an old clip. Wow!

If you want to add something, go and do something with a knife yourself, then tell us about it.

After watching the video posted above and then the destruction video by the same person it just proved to me what I have thought all along. Knives are way over priced in general. I mean the components of a knife are all cheap in their individual state. Steel- cheap, most handle material-cheap but a knife combining the two expensive? I know that most people on here including myself like to buy made in the U.S. products and don't mind paying a little more for them. But after seeing the videos I just watched, Most of the knifes we buy are over-priced. This 10 dollar china made knife lasted longer than most of the "High Quality" custom jobs I've seen in the destruction and cutting test's. Oh and buy the way Not all of us had seen this 5yr old post or the video so get over it and go do something w/ a knife and dont get worked up cuz someone posted in a old posted. Back to the point, knifes are easy to make, especially production knives so why are the prices so stupid in a lot of cases? Is a Busse or CR knife better than this knife. Probably but are they worth the prices that they charge. Absolutely not. Like I said most of us want a US made product and pay more for it but I think people pay way to much for a name or namebrand. Knives have been around forever, Steel is cheap and easy to work with there is no reason for some knives costing what they do. But knife makers know that a huge percentage of the people that buy them, buy them because they look cool/ they collect knives and will never use them. With such a big collector market they know they can charge 10-15 times what the knife is actually worth. This is why I love my BK&T's they havent inflated the prices just to get rich quick and they make a great knife!

Amen!

A friend of the family gave me one of the Bowies... I thought "what the heck" and gave it a sharpening with the idea of giving it at least some token test use. I gave it a few "air chops" to get a feel for it in swing, and felt the tang and handle rattle about inside my grip. It sits unused in my cellar.
I guess I'd rather spend more money so I don't have to worry about a tool shattering in my hand and potentially injuring me. :(

You do realize ANY knife will break under extreme use. Also, this knife, most likely is not heat treated. The reason why it is chopping "better" than a custom, is because all you have is a hunk of steel! Also, the time and effort put into custom's and even higher end production knives is astonishing. You see good, hard working people put their own time making them. They even enjoy it! Now, look at the thousands of people worked to the bone in China, Japan for little pay, making cheap junk knives. I'd rather spend my hard earned money on USA made, like you said. I say even the $1000.00 Busse's are worth it! They last a life time, and the quality is excellent.

For only $140 more you can get a Scrap Yard Regulator! And yes, the Regulator will last longer than 15 CTD cheapos.

But...it'd suck to have your Regulator stolen from out of the truck--so there is something to the whole $10 for an under the seat knife logic.
