Just a quick question will it be alright to reach sharpen and will it hurt the value

Depends how good you are at sharpening and if the knife has already been sharpened. I would try stropping it first. (or ill give you 30 bones for it 😉)

Ha ha. That's awesome. Nice find for $20 smackers!

Lucky. Its like finding One-Eyed Willy's loot.

Try sliding that carbon fiber piece to the right, the original sale that said it was an auto.

$21.63 would be okay if they throw in a cuppa java. My Zaan said that this one is butt-ugly.

Oh dear.

Well, if it is real, it's a decent deal for $20. By my standards at least. I think.

Sounds like this one is likely real after all.

... it's still pretty damned ugly, though, but hey, good score...

I don't think its an auto, its an old pivot style CRK Umnumzaan

But that is what the vallottons are known for. Taking non auto knives and doing dual action conversions with aesthetic changes. There very well could be a d/a mech under that piece of carbon. This is why I dont understand chris reeve wanting to take legal action. Those knives were essentially hot rods. Its not like the guy made fake sebenzas and Umnumzaans.

And after seeing the rest of the pics that is definitely a d/a conversion. And they can be very tricky to open.

Nice grab, bead blast that purple off and you have a $500 knife. I've seen more Vallotton D/A Sebenza's, but not so many Zaans. Hella score.

It's definitely a Vallotton D/A conversion. In the picture with the scale off you can see the track where the forward part of the scale slides to release the sear.

Usually his conversions allow you to remove the leaf spring to fully disable the auto for transport and to allow for replacement. I can't tell from the picture whether the spring is there. They blend in pretty well.

With the scale installed you should be able to use your thumb and slide the forward (near the pivot) end of the scale towards the spine of the knife. The rear scale screw acts as a pivot and the forward screw moves along that track to fire the knife.

I bet it's tight so you think it won't slide but with a little force I bet it does.
