Chris Williams knife tried to rip me off for $5,150

His sales pitch is slick. His website looks really good and touches the emotional heart strings of knives. High quality knife photos, black and white pictures of boats. He doesn't just sell the knife, he sells the experience. It's high level scamming. Reminds me of the thieves that move into a nice neighborhood and then spend all their time and energy acting the part. It would be easy for anyone to be ripped off from the image he presents. Going the extra step he does to post in maxim and other outlets adds legitimacy.

It's a sad state of affairs that you should have to look up a seller and their business practices just to make a purchase from them without getting scammed.

Along with the fact that he clearly hasn't a freaking clue how to properly use shop tools; evidenced by this photograph of him on his website- with his hands balls deep (if he even has a pair) in his pockets...no eyewear protection prior to running a block of imitation fake burl through a table saw, neither using the fence, a featherboard, push stick or an angle guide. What a pathetic, lazy weasel. I'll be willing to bet, that this clown has never in his scamming, thieving life, invested an honest hard days work doing manual blue collar labor, much less broken a sweat.

I'm guessing that he's got to be the guy on the left...smiling all the way to the bank.

CWK is a scoundrel and charlatan of the highest order. Not only is he selling blanks which he slaps a handle on and claiming them to be his own custom designs built from the ground up. Not only is he claiming that he spent ages brainstorming the lines and shapes of these knives to come up with the perfect customs for which he now has to charge a premium. He is also selling 20$ Ganzo knives, which are knockoffs of a Benchmade HK model, re-branded as his own custom designed knife for a rediculous price.

Whatever this guy gets coming to him he brought it on himself. It makes me sad that people like this operate. What is even sadder is that people are being suckered in by the paid for advertisements. I would have thought that if someone was going to spend that amount on the knife they would at least look up some unbiased assessments of the product.

^ If enough victims keep posting these type of negative experiences on the internet, hopefully these thread's will show at the very top of the Google search when prospective buyers enter the name, "Chris Williams," into the search bar.

That's when he'll reinvent himself, come up with a new name/identity and hopefully a new and improved line of Ganzo design knives.

Does anyone know if Chris Williams, has a table at Blade Show 2017? :D

I'm no expert on knifemaking, but I've been around website building enough to know that all that picture is evidence of is his slick marketing techniques. There were no shop tools around when that picture of him was taken. I think he might actually both guys in that picture. The workshop behind them is definitely photoshopped in, I'm pretty sure the table and bench in front of them is photoshopped in, and I'm thinking that even the block of wood might not be legit. It's all a sham.

Love those brave folks ripping him a new one on instagram. He never even bothered denying the claims he's a ripoff artist although he was quick to thank others for buying his junk in the same posts. I can't believe any reasonable person would give $300 for that crummy little oyster knife- in 440C at that. It looks only slightly better and more finished than a 1982 State Fair Pakistan boot knife somebody slapped on a grinder to shorten the blade. Zero actual "innovation" involved.
I agree wholeheartedly with the fact that he's a good marketer. He's obviously got charisma if you'd meet him face to face. Not the first time a large group of people have been sold a bill of goods by an expert at packaging himself in the best possible light, and I'm sure it won't be the last, he's advanced the scheme to the point that now it's "Chris Williams - The Brand". If he wasn't doing this he'd be a televangelist or a politician.

Now that you mention it- that DOES look photoshopped!

Maybe we'll get lucky and he'll lose a hand or two, or at least a head.

I personally wouldn't wish physical harm upon anyone without receiving the same first. Rather, I'd like to see him publically answer for his threats, name calling, and especially for the poor quality of the work he claims as his own. If in fact it is actually his work, let this post, and the many others in this forum and others like it, stand as a testament for future would be victims of his what he's peddling. Let it also be a warning to everyone to research the maker prior to deciding on making a purchase. Without the research, it's buyer beware.

Wishing physical injury upon him is NOT the route that should be taken for this issue.

And the conspicuous absence of any cutting tools clipped in the pocket or hanging from a belt is very telling as well.

He actually did come to defend himself years ago in another thread and made a fool of himself.

Was this the same joker who threatened to sue Spark a couple years ago when he was exposed for passing off factory blank oyster knives for custom? What a complete wanker (sorry for the language but it really applies).

OP - I hope it all works out in your favour. I wish you guys had the same consumer protections we have down here.

Wow the truly disturbing thing is he's been doing this type of crap:poop: for several years! Good for you for standing up to him. I hope you get some justice today.

The permanent restraining order was granted, there was a man who came in and he looked just like him. I'm not sure if it was him or not, he left before the case was called! We sent in our response to his response with the BBB today as well.
