Christmas full of dissapointment

disappointing, but I'd give buck another chance. sometimes mistakes happen. no one is perfect all the time. having Mike (Makeal) take it in would be a great option too. very generous of him. hes a good man.

also if Jeff sees this thread I'm sure he'd help out if it can be done. hes always done everyone here right.

lastly selling it to one of the members like David keeps lt alive as David could fix it himself or convert it to a screwed pivot setup I'd imagine.

all options generously given by the good buck members here, would be better than throwing it in the creek.:)

D4C305E3-01A9-4BE5-B8EF-109B6F7E1C3E.jpeg The 560 Titanium models were put together with .125” diameter stainless steel pins. Heads were spun onto the pin at each end. It is quite easy to replace the rivet with a screw set. The hardest part of installing a screw set is getting the rivet out. You have to behead the rivet with a Carbide spotting drill, and once the drill gets a hold on the rivet, it spins. At this point you’re looking at grinding one head off with Diamond ball Dremel bits.
Screw sets look like this.

You should offer the conversion from riveted to screw together. I have 2 I would send.

Plus pocket clip add.

Boy is it a pain when the rivet starts to spin. If you have drilled deep enough you might can tap the rivet on out. Otherwise, you'll need a Dremel bit and those don't last long so get several. DM

Hi tiguy7 what are the rubber bands holding on? Looks like a battery? A battery powered knife? LOL!! I see it is holding open the lock so the blade can be pulled out straight. I do like those bit holders. Are those screws smaller than 4-40?

I am curious to see how this ordeal turns out hopefully OP can end up happy despite some of his earlier behavior seeming a little poor.

Gotta let that go, we are better than that. He’s been scolded and is better now. We all have had our moments. I also look forward to a good resolution.

I would still like to see a good picture of that pin. I believe that may just possibly fill in all the blanks. I too hope he gets his knife properly fixed and he is happy with it in the end.

The reason the head on the pin wears out the Dremel bits is the fact that said head is stainless steel. I use Diamond ball bits to get longer tool life.

It is difficult to align the holes in the blade and the handle when the rocker is pushing on the blade.I don’t have enough hands to depress the rocker, align the holes, and insert the pin or barrel. This is an AA battery with rubber bands, but if I do much more of this work, I will make a special C clamp.
The screws at either end of the 1/8” barrel are #2X56TPI. The 3 pocket clip screws are the same thread but are a little shorter.

View attachment 1044058Those are made by Rain.Z knives. They’re made out of Titanium and have ceramic bearings.

Thanks for posting that info. I too was curious about the driver as I do model engine building. I checked out the link and they look like quality but at a Benjamin each there are things I want more.
