Christmas gift swap!!! LAST DAY TO JUMP IN!!

Wow, lots of cool things. Thats a nice looking slip joint that Chris sent you. This thread has given me waaaaay to many ideas of things that I should have. From just this page alone I'll be ordering sonic defenders, fenix e01 flashlights, kershaw skyline(been wanting to try one out anyways), glowsticks, and who knows what else. I'm reading up on the sonic defenders and they will probably be the first thing I order. I'm only 30 and have some hearing loss already from shooting too much without ear protection. The last four or so years I have been really good about wearing ear plugs/muffs at the range and while hunting, but I've got to say its pretty darn annoying to not be able to hear much while you are hunting.

Great score, MudBug!

Betcha the 'green coiled hose' is for fire-coaxing-into-life....carry a 24" clear one, myself, in my FMTH! bag and my Haz4 Rocket bag.

Easier to direct the airflow, and much easier than being bent over a fire, puffing & blowing.

Worse case scenario: tubing can be used as a tourniquet.

Mudbug, glad you like everything & soooooo glad it finally got there. Again, my humble apologies it left Ohio 4 days late, my fault 100%, and thanks for having the patience to wait on it . . . and as others have said, DO NOT SEND ANYTHING BACK TO OHIO !!!!
Folks, this is what "experience" & "maturity" (see above) teaches you (i.e.: "old age"). Mud, that is exactly what the little hose is for. 55+ years of football & bowling take a toll on your knees. Sure is a lot easier standing or stooping & blowing thru a hose into your kindling to get it going than to be on your hands and knees getting a face full of smoke while "puffing & blowing" . . . . :D
The patch shaped like a shield is from Jeremy Horton, Horton Custom Knives. He has his own forum here, some great and interesting knives on there, and is a great knife maker. Usually has some great comments & insights to share as well . . . . :)
The black knife is made by Gerber and I think is called the Gator model. I have had it for about 15 years, new, in a drawer collecting dust, and thought someone else might get some use out of it before it turns into an antique. The same for the Case, new, never carried, never used except on a sheet of paper about 20 years ago, have just got into the habit of carrying my knives clipped in my pocket.
Hope you and your wife had a great Christmas, again my apologies Santa was a "little" late, and hope you can put all those items to good use out there. Good luck with the remaining tags you have as well . . . .
Be safe.

No apologies required J1M! We're still talkin' about all the cool stuff ya'll sent! I can't thank everyone enough for your generous, unselfish acts of kindness. You people are first class all the way!

As for the hose, I never thought about using it for blowing on embers. Thanks for the tip. I really thought it could be used for collecting water or used as a straw. Getting all this cool stuff is really making me want to go roughing it even in Winter! I haven't done that in many years. I just about figured my old fat body wouldn't enjoy it as much as I used to, but I'm getting a hankerin' to do it!

Sorry for the delay guys, I've been really busy. Here is what I received from rkmoore in the swap. I have been shopping for a day pack for a while now so the pack will get much use...probably everyday.   He also included a custom "pocket skinner" made by forum member BLINDHOGG. The skinner is a perfect size and weight in that it easily slides into any pocket and is forgotten until it is needed. The ergos on the skinner are also top notch fitting perfectly in the hand. Thanks again rkmoore! Hope you all have a wonderful year and I'll see you around the forum...2.jpg3.jpg4.jpg1.jpg

I'm really glad you like it and are going to use it. If I remember correctly that's the A-III. Really tough pack but not getting much use with me. So better to go to a good home where it can get plenty of fresh air and the occasional long walk. :) The skinner was a gift from blindhog as he wanted some feedback on the design. If you get a chance to use it let him know what you think.
I am so looking forward to next Christmas!!!!!
