If the powers that be don't feel I measured up to the standard set I will withdraw.

Thanks Jonny, great knife George I love the guard and grind on that clip!

I want to Chime in here, It seems that everyone is a bit gun shy to post their entries for some reason. If you committed to do this KITH and put your best into your entry POST IT UP! There is a HUGE variance of abilities and skill within the walls of BladeForums, there will always be someone better. Hopefully all of us will look back on these knives when 2012 KITH comes along and know we will do better.

I am excited to get my gift Knife in the mail no matter who made it. Having said that I will be more excited to see who gets my entry. And I hope that whoever gets my knife will send me a list of things they like, and things that I can improve on.

This is my first KITH with only 15 days left I hope to see many more blades posted! The more the Merry-er

Thanks for the compliments, but this is my first foray in with the big boys:o, and as usual I have been looking at this thing for so long I can see every little thing. I do like the look of it in general and it feels good in my hands.

George, my comments weren't directed at you. More the general feeling so far, this is my first Foray as well with the "big boys" nerves are always good. You have a great knife there, I would be more than pleased to receive it! I consider you a "Class Mate" we are all in this together!

Excellent submissions so far people!

Here's my modest entry. A little EDC tanto.

The OAL is about 195mm with a blade length of approx 83mm. The 12c27 blade was professionally heat treated to around 58rc by Hills HT. Handle is made of wenge and oak. Pinned with SS pins and sanded to 2000grit. The handle was then soaked in oil for 24hours and buffed lightly on a soft cotton wheel. Comes with a simple ABS, taco style pocket sheath.

Man, I wish I was still in, I would be ecstatic to receive any of those. Unk you have nothing to worry about with that piece but I konw how you feel, thats how I felt at my first one. Heck, i still feel that way :-)

unky excellent combo.... i think the sheath alone measures up with the big boys :)

all the knives are awesome, and there's been a change in the rules... (if you didn't get the memo) send all knives to me for proper analysis.. :D

Here is my entry:

BFKITH.jpg

10 1/2" OAL, 4 3/4" blade, 410 stainless guard, W-B-W G-10 spacers, stabilized Maple handle (thanks Mark), W-B-W G-10 spacers, Elk antler pommel with fitted O-1 cap, stainless pins.

This is my first time using GIMP software to edit and combine JPG's so go easy on me, :) One day, i hope my photos look as good as Ryan's.

I'd also like to thank Nick Wheeler for his awesome WIP's. Seeing how someone who knows exactly what they're doing has really helped my guard fitting a lot. Otherwise, this would probably be a full tang. :)

Nice design Randy! That handle/ grip turned out awesome!

Ok, I'm ready!!
Been a long day, but I got my KITH knife finished up tonight.
I wanted to do something different than my standard blades for this event, so I put something together that includes a lot of "firsts" for me.

This is my model 4 Mini Hunter, the only real one I've ever made that's leaving the shop. It's made from ATS-34, flat ground with a swedge, heat treated by Peters to 60rc. Earth brown G-10 scales with yellow G-10 liners. It is the first knife I've ever made with a tapered tang, the first knife that I've used a bead blast finish on the scales, and the first knife that I've done file texture work on the handle. Hope you guys like it, it's a bit off the beaten path for me.
