Christmas knives

I did Christmas with my Dad/Stepmom and my Nanny tonight, and got a Ka-Bar Big Brother, 2 Rough Rider slipjoints, and this small "Madura Kris" from Kris Cutlery:

I expect a couple more blades when I do Christmas with my Mom and Grandmother tomorrow.

I got an ESEE zancudo about a week ago as an early Xmas gift, it was only one of many, in my family (wife and I + 3 kids) we really spoil each other, nearly 100 presents sit under the tree right now waiting on the kids, my wife and I exchanged ours earlier, gun parts & custom flashlights (both ways) and knives (again both ways, my wife got the KAI Komachi 2 set). Also worth mentioning, a complete set (SAE 1/4"-1" & metric 6-21mm) of Gear Wrench brand ratcheting wrenches to replace [and expand] my old mix-n-match set.

Also got some amazon gift cards, I was planning to use the money to pick up any other gear wrenches I still needed after I got the set (obviously it was a planned thing with my wife and mother-in-law) but they really hooked me up so I don't have to spend the money on wrenches, instead I'll buy more knives!

My wife bought me 6 inch novaculite Arkansas Soft and Hard whetstones. The stones I've been using for the last 30 years are pocket stones.

We'll open packages this evening when my wife gets off shift as an RN.

With my wife's gift and eldest daughter's gift I'm also giving them each a Vic Waiter. My son and son in-law will get Vic Classic SDs. My youngest daughter a Vic Bantam.

The kids know only to get me something consumable like cooking me a meal, movie tickets, etc, or self-made art.

My wife and I placed a $50 limit on each other. Next year we're put a $25 limit on the gifts we buy each other. Makes one to be much more thoughtful about what one buys the one he/she loves especially when you are at a stage in life you can buy most anything you want if you choose to spend your money that way.

I bought my wife some turquoise earrings with the turquoise still in the host rock and silver suspension made by a lady in the southwest, a Vic Waiter, and a pair of "cabin socks" she loves. I've had the earrings for a few months now. I was sweating bullets because that's late for me buying my wife's Christmas gift. I keep an eye out for her birthday and Christmas gifts all year long. Sometimes will have the next three or four already stashed, but this year the stash was dry for both.

A hint to you young 'uns --- Once you've married the one, buy cards by the many and stash them in a shoe box in your closet. Then for no specific occasion and no specific reason, other than to say you love her, give her those cards throughout the year. Also buy your wife a gift on your birthday each year every year. Lastly, but certainly not least important, on your wife's birthday buy your mother in-law flowers and thank her.

I changed the computer "wallpaper" to a nice pic of a Team Gemini - I deleted all of our FleaBay watch list except for every Swamp Rat, Scrapyard, and Busse that was for sale. I told her I wanted a "Daryl Dixon knife" (she loves that show)..I don't know what else I could have done. I know I didn't marry Sherlock Holmes, but........ Now the waiting!!

I got her a new fleece lined 0-20 degree sleeping bag. Yellowstone was hell when the tent was covered in sleet and ice!

Merry Christmas to all! My wife got me an esee 5 venom green, and I had absolutely no clue she had got it. She actually researched it. My young boys also got me a nice little Magnum knife, definitely going to be my fishing knife. Kids got what they wanted, wife almost got what she wanted. Her bow broke last month and had yet to pick a new one out.

I had a 3550bk plain edge that was suppose to arrive but ups dropped the ball and I sent m father in law an impel again ups dropped the ball (paid for 3 day delivery 6 or 7 days ago) :( they'll make nice after Christmas gifts I guess :) .

My brother got me a ZT 0350 in the stone washed finish. My first ZT! It will likely steal some pocket time from my PM2s!

Pics later.

Nice! Be sure to let us know your impressions, I've recently gotten very interested in getting one- my favorite handle material, my favorite steel and I'm liking the scandi grind mora and mora these days lol.

I think I am going knife shopping with the extra cash I received. Maybe a Ratmandu will be in my stocking a bit late!

Will do.
So far I'm amazed at the quality of precision craftsmanship.
Carbon fiber scale has stunning 3D and nice texture (lot better than Caly 3).
The thumb stud will open the blade effortlessly with authority.
I'm not into bushcraft but this knife is great for my EDC.
