Cigars and Blades...Modern style

I always thought 70% was just about right? The magic numbers were always 70/70. 70 % at 70deg or there abouts.

Its all based on your conditions. Altitude, normal relative humidity in the area, ect. Somebody in florida (or even myself in ga) has a much higher humidity than somebody in say arizona so while 75% works for them 65% works much better for me. Temp just depends as well. My normal humidors sit at my basement temp of 67-70 but my wineador is at 64 all the time. Realistically you just want to keep it below 70ish to keep any beetles from hatching and not so cold it dries out or becomes brittle.

Its all experimenting to find that balance and obviously you have to use a good humidification device along with a properly calibrated hygrometer.

Today I smoked one of my favourite inexpensive non-Cuban cigars. Te Amo Revolution robusto. Cigar Aficionado put this stick in their top 25 of 2014. Some of the sweetest smelling smoke around. And there's lots and lots of smoke! I typically age these for a year, and they end up tasting like a cigar 3 or 4 times the price.

Had a real rough shift last night. Spent the afternoon on the deck in my zero gravity chair. Slept most of the day, but had some time to enjoy this mystery cigar and a big glass of water. She's been in my humidor for at least a year now. Maybe a buddy brought it over, maybe it was a freebie from the keeper at the local shop? It knocked me on my ass whatever it was. Acids are good if you like something flavored but the flavoring takes away from the cigar it self. Cant go wrong with any thing from drew estate though.

Instead of doing the camacho ditka cigars (i gave been told they are ok but not amazing) try the camacho ecuador, great cigar with some great flavors and they would not be a huge jump from acids with the flavor profile.

As for how often to smoke, it is up to you. Obviously smoking of any kind isn't great for you but from everybody i have talked to (never touched a cigarette my entire life) cigarettes are way worse and cause much worse effects simply due to the fact you inhale them and you don't inhale cigar smoke. In fact there isnt much solid evidence cigar smoking will cause a ton of damage unless you are smoking multiple a day.

Got some ditkas and some Ecuador. Hopefully I can post a pic this weekend during some relaxation.

Got it! Good to know.
