Just curious if this has gone on to the next person yet???
 
As much as I hate to, I am gonna bow out of this one. I thought it would be here alot sooner, and my camera is broken now, and my schedule is growing very busy, and I dont think I could do this in a timely manner. I dont want to keep this thing from wrappin up cause I get busy.:o

Thanks very much for the offer. It looks like a great blade, I love the looks of it. Sorry, but I figure better to bow out then have to come up with excuses and waste your time later.

It does look like a cool nessie. When this came around originally, I thought it would be to me much faster(no offense to anyone). Honestly, I had almost forgot about this one. Things creep up, and sometimes you eat the bar, and sometimes the bar eats you. Lebowski.

i got the knife in the mail yesterday, and i really like it. the kydex is cool , but i found that i prefer the leather one. it fits well in a back pocket. initially though, i wasnt impressed with the sharpness. i didnt want to do to much to it, since it isnt my knife, but, if i can get the go-ahead, ill try to get it good and sharp again. i really like the look and feel of it. i havent got to using it yet, but will soon. also, my internet is down, so i may not have my review up for a few days since i am relying on somone elses computer.

by the way, CKE2, do you have a link to the instructions for the braid on the baldric? it looks really cool and feels very strong.
 
By all means please sharpen away! Hard to test a knife that is not sharp. The baldric is a cobra stitch like orrey45 said....easy to do, but takes a LOT of cord to make.

i like theCKE nessmuk alot. it is a good size for carrying around, even around town. the leather sheath functions well in a back pocket once removed from the baldric. the kydex is good, but i am not a big fan of kydex, so i didnt really use that sheath. the knife is very comfortable in the hand and the shape gives alot of controll.

my main advice in perfecting the design would be to go with a high (if not full) convex grind. i like scandi grinds alot, but i dont think that a scandi is best on a nessmuk. my only complaint was the inability to get it as sharp as i would have liked, but i think the change in grind would remedy that problem.

in my few days of using it, i : opened packages, did general outdoor work, food preparation, cut some paper and did some whittling/carving.

Just for my sake, how high up would you like to see the bevel before convexing the edge out. I have never done a convex edge so input would be greatly appreciated.

i would say you should have the bevel start at about level with the hollow pin on the handle that is closest to the blade. that should give enough room for it to make a good sharp edge, and at 1/8'' it would make quite a slicer.
 
i mailed it out today, but i forgot to put the paper with the addresses on it in the box, so CKE2, you might need to email dougo the list of remaining addresses so that he knows where to send it.
