Cut, split, and delivered a load of firewood today. That's one way to stay warm.

Time for a drink.:D

You've earned it. Cutting, splitting, and delivering firewood is hard work. So, what are you drinking?

I'm currently enjoying this:

it was -12F (-25C) when the dog wanted out at 4:30AM - he didn't stay out long.
currently we're up to -7 w/a wind chill of -20.
making hash for breakfast, SWMBO is still in bed, wrapped up in the blankets with a dog next to her soaking up and heat she lets escape. :)

That's a smart dog! Can barely get Zack back in the house. He loves this weather.

Fun work too.

That Crown sounds interesting. I've only ever had their apple, and it was not too bad

I'm sipping this.

Liquor store had it on sale for $20. It is pretty tasty, and for the price I'm thinking about picking up another bottle or two.

Sixteen degrees in Barlow. Just finished a big bowl of Kay's venison chili. Going to hang a lip over some Jack on a couple of cubes and enjoy the fireplace while I look at guns for sale. Life ain't bad.

it was chilly enough today I put on gloves to help a buddy move a haybale.
was thinking I'm getting old and losing my temperature tolerance - until I just looked at the thermometer.
it's back down to 4*F on the front porch.
it felt pretty good in the sun this afternoon while there was minimal breeze.

It isn't too bad. I am just starting drinking whiskey regularly, so I don't have much to compare it to yet. Not as sweet as Maker's Mark or Jack.

Maker's Mark is my thang. Not too fond of Jack. I like Jameson too. Very smooth.

Maker's Mark is my thing too, if I'm drinking a Ky whiskey. I prefer clear liquor to brown liquor *MOST* days, however some days you just need a nice whiskey to sip on. I am currently out so I need to restock.

Hi everybody!

Bill Hays is a hell of a good shot:

lows in the 400s tonite...

bit of a lava flow in the south 40, but that's my fault for eating spicey food...

can't say much for the lower village. took a leak. like an acid flood.

in other news, ordered a council axe 130 year anniversary edition. seems prudent.

they also make a stupid looking apocalypse axe. i might have at least one on order :D

and uh stuff...

also. yeah, thanks to a fire, i spent 8 hours hours running around outside in 24 dF weather, did stuff, rant back to heat up. tshirt. sandals. seriously, it was great.

65-70 felt like punishment later.

Got up to 50°F today - shorts weather. Back down to the teens tonight.

What a bunch of old, old men, talking about the weather........I'm waitin' fer oneay'all ta spin us a yarn about the Great Blizzard o' '69, I telluwhat.

Thank goodness for Trade - with his sanguine grasp of the situation - and the minimalist, old fart, sublimely effective response. To cool for skool.
I'm doing stupid "chop wood, carry water" activities - though at least those activities imply being in nature. Vacuuming and cleaning, OTOH - they are a challenge for any aspiring meditator.

Carry on with your meteorological discourse.....

.....from inside ;)......

I don't know anything about the blizzard of '69, but the blizzard of '78, now that was a storm worth remembering...

And Glen Moray FWIW

The ice storm of 77 was about as bad as it got around these parts. My dad was a lineman, and we hardly ever saw him. I think we were out of power for over a week. Kerosene heaters going, and cooking on a camp stove. As kids, we loved it, haha. But the parents hated it.
