I've dealt with E4L before the transaction was perfect and he's a man of his word. He sold me a PM2 with custom scales at a pretty low price and that was during the scarcity of PM2s. If he sells what he doesn't like then I don't see anything wrong with that. This hobby is expensive so I don't see any point in hanging on to something that you won't enjoy. If makes a profit off of eBay then he makes a profit, that's none of our business. eBay fees get expensive and stupid, so I don't blame E4L for jacking his price a bit to compensate from the fees. Should he resell on the forums to "give back"? Well that's none of our concern with what he wants to do with his stuff. It's not like he's ripping any members off. From what I've noticed, E4L had let go of some very nice pieces at very fair prices on this forum.

He has current offerings in the exchange for what I would consider less than market value so if is really trying to earn a living by flipping knives he is leaving a lot of money on the table. There are many here in the forum who purchase duplicate Spyderco sprints with the intention of selling the spare for more than what it cost in order to lower the net cost of the keepers. They purchase knives with the intention of selling them for a profit but I don't consider those folks dealers nor would I expect that the mods would demand they upgrade their membership.

He did this last time there was a thread about him. As soon as the heat was on he went from selling above what he paid for stuff to miraculously offering stuff at a discount. He knows exactly what he's doing. He made enough money off that persian and the 2 PM2 sprints to cover what he's losing on this sale and then some.

Then he's breaking even... Not making profit... You guys are not happy with him flipping knives for profit, but if he's not making profit and is giving back to the forum with more rare pieces... What do you have to carp about?

What I'm saying is he's only "giving back" because so many people are watching. The last time I saw him sell something in one of his "special short sales" he made a big fat deal about how he was losing money on the knife, and it just so happened to be listed right after the last thread in GB&U that was voicing the same concerns about him profiting off the BF exchange was posted.

Seriously, guys...

Buy from him or don't buy from him. Sell to him or don't sell to him. It is your choice. Let the mods to their job. Most of them are very good at it.

See, the Mods are Spark's reps on the forum. They run it as he wants (except for the dealer sub forums). If they don't want him here, he wouldn't be here. It is really that simple. We can whine, complain and moan all we want but that is what it really comes down to.

If you see someone violating the forum guidelines, send the Mods a PM or hit the report button. But I fail to see what a thread like this accomplishes. I see this sub forum as a place to let folks know about fellow members, or sites, that take product without paying or vice-versa. Or someone who fails to live up to a trade. But complaining about someone flipping? Mods job, guys. Not ours.

JMO.

Wise man^

The mod's job is to actually deal with the people how they see fit, but you can't say it's not our place to complain about it. This is a discussion forum and we are having a discussion. You are free to voice your opinion, so don't tell me I'm not allowed to voice mine. Don't like it? Go read a different post.
