I really need to get speakers for my computer!!!

Nice personal touch with a video response. Good example of his business acumen - textbook example on the effective use of social media.

Have to agree, this thread needs more pictures of his knives. Of course if you spend the $$$ & become a member of Snodyworld you'd get plenty.

see, i think what everyone is forgetting is that i asked a question (a few actualy) here on bladeforums. and i got my answer. appreciated the video snody, but i still think you fail to understand my point. this was me and my innitial impressions asking some questions. i had previously known absolutly nothing about you aside from your website.i certainly have a new opinion of the knife maker, but my stance on the website is the same. thank you mike for the video. i appreciate the time you dedicated to answering my question. i do, however, think you should at the very least, change your website so that navigation is much easier.

I have nothing to add to this, because Mr Snody's video response says it all. He proves that he is a respectful Gentleman and his knives prove that he is one of the upper makers in the world.

 to Mike Snody

I have 1 Snody fixed blade, and it's awesome. I would love to have one of his custom folders. This is a fine example of, don't judge a book by it's cover.

also, i am not in any way experienced with website design. im making this observation as a consumer. i would still love the opportunity to helo out with your website mike. i have plenty of ideas im certain will help.

That is a fair statement from OP in my opinion. He was not saying that Snody is a bad person or anything. He just said that the site is trash and just goes against what you would like to deal with - so really does not have much information and much buying appeal.
That was not about what kind of person Mike is, or if his knives are any good.
In this regard it was again fair and well stated.
And I am obviously one of these people who are bothered by that image.
And there are plenty of good knives around - I just can not afford to buy all of them. So what are the chances me picking one of Snody knives? Should he worry about that - I guess not. If people buy his knives faster than he can make them, he probably should not care about neither image, no site - and just focus on making his knives faster. Or not - just simply enjoy what he is doing.

i think you might be the only person who understood what i was getting at.

Cla$$y guy. I first learned about Mike after becoming interested in Spyderco's Ronin and Yojimbo models. After watching his videos and reading his posts I can see he is truly a stand up character as well as being an extremely talented knife-maker. I actually enjoy the website, but I wish there were knives for sale on it.

I have to say that the whole ghetto\bling thing threw me off for quite a while. I knew Snody knives were quality, but I still avoided them for some reason. I really appreciate this video response. It gave me a better understanding of what you're about. You've definitely made at least one new customer =)

Never owned a custom Snody (owned two of his awesome BM collabs tho), after watching that vid response, I WILL send some green stamp his way one of these days. Youda man Mike, thanks for keeping it real.

Browse around Benchmade's website, check out the activator series, Snody Designs, says right on em. D2 knives with stabilized winewood handles, and from what I hear, true pieces of craftmanship. I am a huge fan of benchmade, and IMHO when anyone works with them to produce high quality products, they join the ranks of knife legends.

I have a few Benchmades that are Snody designs - some of my favorites. Mike seems like a standup guy.

To the OP: If first impressions are important to you, have you ever thought about what folks think about your avatar?

Seriously, I only read your post because it concerned M. Snody, else I would have kept browsing.

When researching knives one of the last places I go to is actually the persons website. Whether it be here, USN, Jerseydevils or many websites that sell custom knives, they are usually where i see or hear about a knife maker. So what he decides to do with his website doesn't really matter to me.

I have never, ever heard a bad thing about Mike, I have never heard him criticize another maker and I have never heard another maker criticize him. He delivers what he says he will. He turns out amazing knives that many times go as soon as they are made. His folders are VERY collectible. His quality is top notch.

I have to wonder if you don't like his marketing how do you feel about others like Emerson and his "GI Commando, nobody in the Special Forces carries anything but an emerson" approach, or Lynn Thompson's "The only thing better than a Cold Steel is a lightsaber". I'm not criticizing either one, they found what works and they use it.

Sounds like you have been looking into knives. How many makers have you come to BF to ask about? Why? Because a website really doesn't tell you much about the maker. I can point you towards a 1/2 dozen websites of makers off the top of my head. They are basic "this is what I sell" websites. They have pictures of the knives, they have prices, they have everything you would want. What you don't see is what kind of person they are. Do they make the knives on time? To they take your money and run? What s the quality REALLY.

If you decide to not buy from him because of something silly like a ghetto website that's your choice, but be assured that there is a line of people behind you that will be happy to take your place.
