That is how I dropped from 262 pounds on 01/01/22 down to 209 pounds by 9/3/22 for my daughter's wedding. I am still the same 209 lbs today, and fluctuating between 206-211 for the past 2.5 months since the wedding. I should be shooting for 199 or less, but I mostly needed to lose it for the wedding and then decided to keep it off but also enjoy my food too 🤣

I'm pretty sure I can easily drop the last 10 pounds if I really wanted to, now that I know it can be done.

Nice work!

I started at 240 and am now at 210 and am aiming for the same thing you are.... 199 or down... I just want that first number to be a 1 for gosh sakes.

This last 10 pounds is gonna require backing down the microbrew tasting sessions... which is my only other vice besides knives. Aw well, the blood sugar will thank me too.

Gary W. Graley Gary W. Graley I've been digging through my various piles of knives lately and thinking... "Maybe one of THESE is THE one, and I just didn't give it enough time"

(Perhaps not, but this method keeps me out of the exchange for a couple of days ;) )

This one seems to be hanging in there lately. Always loved the Rambler, and this baby just keeps getting better looking by the week... Kinda like us.

Gary, I have to take the position of the Devil on your shoulder here, so we don't risk losing a brother in the sickness :).

There is no perfect Knife, only perfect Knives. Kind of like spaghetti sauce:

Welcome back ; )

Now I need a knife for my extra chunky spaghetti sauce! :D

That certainly looks like a keeper for sure, I don't count SAK's as my edc's as they are ALWAYS my edc work horses, my Executive and my PioneerX both ride along every single day, along with my small Knipex pliers and a few flashlights ;)

I respect that. The other one that's getting close is this Benchmade with the AWT scales.... If only it were a few ounces lighter, it would really stand out in my crowd.

For those that wonder, yes, it is still hanging in there ;)

My post "Third time's a charm" was not true.

After going online to order this but buying the ACE Grand in green micarta, and then going back for this model a second time and ending up with another ACE Grand in red micarta and black SW M390 blade, I finally went back over the weekend for a 3rd time to get this one. But the sale price was back up to MSRP.

So, now I'm still waiting for yours 🤣

(or for it to go on sale again)

Nice, Gary! According to my wife, you are the most dangerous man on the internet, lol....

I think for the most part we're driven to keep searching for THE knife, the one that you can rely on constantly. I've owned, well, a LOT lets just say! over the years and while some have gotten close, none had the staying power, for me. While it may have been just a passing fling, most have moved on to homes where they could find a loving family :)

BUT, I am closing in I think on THE knife. One that feels solid in the hand while not feeling heavy, one that opens reliably and locks up securely and one that has a good cutting geometry for most of what I need in an EDC and that is...drum roll please...the GiantMouse Ace Jutland.

Coming in at a close second, is the Artisan Andromeda, good scales, handy narrow pointy and sharp blade

These are the Non-Traditional knives, the Traditional knives I am closing in on that branch of my search for THE one.

While I've come to this decision, I am trying to see how long I can avoid the Exchange section of this forum, as I truly have enough and I am working to whittle down to just a select few and looking at those sales post can be hazardous to my goal, I must stay strong ;)

So post if you think you've settled on THE knife, folders mainly fixed blades I think I am getting close as well. I know some of you guys and gals are already settled on THE knife and I am envious of you all, some find it easy to do this, such as CRK line up, or a custom.

I have a few sales yet to go so I will attempt to only do upkeep on those, but I will strive to avoid opening other for sale threads, wish me luck!

A philosophical question- is it possible to find THE knife? Does it exist? I mean you can find good knives, and better knives, but isn't there always a better one around the corner? This is one of those "it's a journey, not a destination" things. However you might not find the best knife, maybe you just find one that is good enough. But eventually I think you resume the chase.
I've been through a lot of knives on this search- buy one, try it, sell it, repeat, repeat, ... Most recently I've been carrying various Spyderco models and I think they suit me pretty well. In particular the limited editions of the PM2 and the LW Manix 2 are what I like the most.

After more than 10 years of pocket knife collecting. I decided:

But if I think some more and regard my usual movements, manner of dress, transport, and cutting needs, this one is actually more knife than I need:

Man, that exchange sure is dangerous isn't it? I confirmed yesterday that the only way I'm going to really not buy more knives is if I just avoid my various sites of used knives. Seems like every time I look something pops up and I get that feeling of "Oh shoot, if I don't buy this now, there's no way I'm gonna find another one at this deal!" 🤣
