all kidding aside, what is the benifit of chisel grinds? I have personally never had one so I really can't judge.

You can get them real sharp AND they're easy to sharpen,,, according to the Japanese,,, and Mr. Ernie Emerson,,,

BUT I just can't stomach the looks of it,,, doesn't look quite finished to my ignorant eyes,,, sorry, Jerm...

The benefit is only for the maker
it requires half the work.
I think it goes back to Japanese times
when apprentices were allowed to only
grind on the back side of the blade.

well im just sayin,,, they are sharp... i cant help peoples vision of their perfect blade.. half finished and sharp is better for smaller knives,, in my opinion

these neckers i just finished,,, i had to flat grind them,,, hollow grind the belly's, heat treat em,, ,, then finish the noses,, then convex the edge,, to make them hang with a hollow chisel grind,,,
