code 3 is out of control......

Actually I think that sellers should just think really - really hard about what they want to sell and then when we get these telepathitic messages we can e-mail them directly with our chatter................ That would save the boards from even more "clutter"...... Let me go and get my aluminium foil hat on :)

"FREE VTN, FREE VTN, THE GLOVE DON'T FIT, YOU MUST ACQUIT"

I hope this gets resolved and this forums remains the free and open blade board it was when i joined... I am no fan of recent changes as it has reduced the community feel and fun nature of this board imo. I have already found myself spending more time on another forum lately-

This looks to me like bad policy for all involved. I hope the decision is reconsidered.

But thats just it. We have not heard if there really has been a change of policy or if this was just a mistake on the part of the Mod.

Thanks - But which facts do you speak of? I was referring to the post he made in the exchange, and his posting in the community about it.

Which is incorrect?

And, am I not allowed to express my opinion about the moderation of the board in the Service and Support? Or just in this thread?

Please advise,

John

rat30.... if spark doesnt remove that ding you got i will cease my activity on bladeforums, i will also make a lot of noise in other places

actually i didnt want it in the service area and dont like that its been moved..... service and making the community aware are two very different things.

The rules of the Community Forum clearly state that topics such as this should be posted in Service and Support. I don't care that you don't like that it was moved nor do I like the fact that you called out a Mod in the wrong manner. I should ding you for simply ignoring and bypassing the posted rules. They are in place for a reason and you are way out of line in that regard.

As stated by Bastid, this could simply be a mistake, so before you bash someone you had better have your facts straight especially when it comes to one on my fellow mods. If this was not done in error then I'm sure he has an explanation for why he dinged you. I understand that you're upset but don't you ever, ever, post that stuff in Community again especially when it involves a moderator. Understand?

Aaron,

I don't think Chris was making a threat or ultimatum. I think he was simply stating a fact. I think the idea is to make clear the consequences of actions.

Threats like that rarely have the desired result........

I agree. Discussion is key on these things and private discussion is probably best. It's best IMO to treat these things like GB&U feedback. Try to resolve it privately first before bringing it public. Just my .02 and no judgement on anyone. In the heat of the moment, things don't always look the way they do in hindsight, and I understand that.

EDIT: Oh, goodness, nevermind. Apparently the deep end has been gone off into already......

(me grammar am bad, I know)

kv.... ding away bud.... your attitude is exactly the problem...... i am calling american express now

My attitude is fine. Your failure to follow rules and lack of respect towards the mods of this site is the problem.

I do not take kindly to threats against the Admin. of this site or any mod. for that matter. You jumped on CODE3 without hearing his side of the situation. You have been warned in the past about your dealings on BFC. You chose to ignore those warnings and now it is going to cost you. I cannot condone your behavior to a fellow Community Mod. you are way out of line and irrational.

You are being hit with an infraction. I will not reverse nor will I apologize for it and if it results in your banning then so be it.

Yes, your post was chatter for sure. Anything not directly related to saying "I'll take it", putting it in for the item if the deal falls through, asking for more info or pics and the like is chatter. I hope that helps clarify it.

So, in case someone wants to ask for any clarification / information pertaining to the item for sale, are they allowed to ask it or, that would make it chatter? I am not saying that this is what I asked, I am just trying to see what is allowed and what not.

Thanks.

What are you trying to do? Get yourself banned? I can help you out with that if you'd like. You are digging yourself into a deeper hole, one you may never get out of. Posting private messages is not going to help you out any. if anything it's going to make things worse for you. Private means just that...private.

so what because your a mod you can say what you want to me.... you can talk like you want but i cant post a legit gripe?

As far as I understand, asking clarifying questions is allowable. It is the 'Nice knife", "great deal", "damn I wish I had the cash" type posts that don't contribute to the thread that are prohibited. I hope that helps. I catch myself many times when I see a good deal go by, so don't feel too bad. You just have to keep it on target and pertinent to the sale.

Thank you KV for more consideration on this matter- cooler heads are indeed needed. But then lets hear about the origional cause of all this. code3 made a call and some of us (law abiding -paying members) are looking for more of an explination.

VTWs is a good man
