Coffee

No, John, I just wanted to know who is still waiting. I wasn't "calling you out". But, since you brought it up......... lol!!! It's all in good fun anyway!

Fed Ex/ UPS and expidited in the same sentence....that is funny!!

Merry Christmas!

^ I thought that you'd like that! :D
I was able to get your package shipped out late this afternoon. Hopefully it will arrive sometime next week, prior to X-mas.

BTW- as I was shopping for some coffee to send you, I met this really sweet lady who told me that I really needed to check out this awesome coffee place located just down the road from me, called, "Lofty Coffee Co." in Encinitas.

^ I was told that they roast some very good coffee. The second part of this SS gift, MF, is for you to make a selection from their website. Just let me know which blend you'd like to try. This will be your New Year's 2017 gift.

You are to kind good sir! It all sounds so good! I would be happy to drink anything you picked. Even that Sweet Blue, West Coast Winter, or Classy Espresso. :D As long as it was a gift from you - I would FORCE myself to drink every drop! It would be rough, but I would do it in the HOLIDAY SPIRIT!

Happy Holidays to everybody in the coffee thread!!

I just discovered, and really enjoy, Green Mountain.."Nantucket Blend" medium roast. I can order it through Staples Office Supply (they do stock other Green Mountain coffees). It seems rather "sweet" compared to my normal Eight O'Clock medium roast. I'm using a 50/50 mixture of the two at present and really am loving it. Highly reco'd.
BTW, I did a Google Search and both Green Mountain and Eight O'Clock seemed to be pretty high up on the list...
My coffee pot finally broke and I gave up and bought a cheap Keurig which just does a single K-cup. I use a paper filter with a Keurig plastic coffee filter...designed for ground coffee...and I'm quite content.

I have been mixing 2 parts Kenyan (Y'shua's roast) with 1 part Blue Bali. Kind of an odd light/dark thing. It works perfectly in my Aeropress.
I'm no way a coffee snob. But, I do catch myself drinking it with my pinkies out!!!
Y'shua is the mad scientist of coffee!!:D

Welcome back Uffda! You need to come around more often.

Oh wow hopefully not for too long lol, it always seems like we're so surprised when we get hit hard up here and it takes forever to get the roads cleared, you'd think we'd be more prepared after all this time

Up north here the roads are covered in snow an ice, first day after the storm we had a young guy slide over the curb and through a business's window... seems like every fresh college kid can't drive to save his life haha.

So Santa just showed up, dressed as a female postal worker. I think it's my SS gift, pics to follows.

So wow, quite the haul! I'll start with the knife, if I'm right about it that would be a viper and it's in red linen micarta :). Looks BA. There is a lol of chocolate and bars, mostly organic stuff which is always a plus, gotta treat the body right even when you're imbibing in treats right? There's an undisclosed Starbucks bucks gift card, which despite running a local coffee shop I will use. I love their mugs. They very seriously have the best mugs.... there is the DVD of northern exposure which I've not seen but should as I'm pretty close to Canada haha. The yirgacheffe was a great surprise, I'm a massive fan of yirgacheffe coffees! If I didn't have to run a business to make money and cater to people's palates with what I roast it would be Ethiopian varietals all freaking year. There's a tincture here that says Musrhoom master, which if my ethnobotanical knowledge is correct, is a wellness/immunity booster with adaptogenic properties. Then there's the peppers!!! I'm a chili head so this was a fantastic surprise for me! I'm pumped to try these peppers out! Never had them dried before, I've had them fresh and in salsa though. There is a small vial included that says smell me, and some writing that I can't discern, but the smell is very familiar to me. It reminds me of a cologne I think...? Need to be illuminate on that one for sure. The last thing is just a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes.

haha glad you like it! The the Starbucks card was kind of a joke but happy you'll use it! The illegible word on vial says Royk it's a fragrance oil made by an indie perfumer that makes small one time batches, you can burn in an oil burner, wear if you like or dab it on stuff here's a description (Røyk is a woody-incense fragrance that uses incense from both Eastern and Western cultures. From the Hinoki walls of Buddhist temples in the mountains of Japan to the frankincense-drenched Roman enclaves, It blends frankincense from these Eastern and Western cultures with sandalwood from India. Røyk starts out chilly and stark but warms up as it dries down with lightly balsamic, resinous undertones. It features notes of frankincense, elemi, benzoin, styrax, opoponax, labdanum, hinoki, cedar, southerwestern pinon, Piedmont colophony, Congo black coral and sandalwood.)

Very cool, the history makes me quite partial to it haha. Have you had the yirgacheffe before? Any brewing method you'd be inclined to suggest? I can accommodate most.
