Cold Steel 2013 Lineup/New Products

I'll probably get and try to break one of those Smatchets.

It is a jerk thing to TM the name though.

Oh I totally agree--anyone looking for Mora specifically is going to go with Mora. Think, however, of how few non-knife-nut folks there are that actually know about Mora. These seem to be targeted at those individuals, is what I'm saying. :)

Regarding the whole trademarking of the smatchet name, it's technically only for "SMATCHET" (all caps) if I remember correctly, and that only gives them limited rights to the name. I think they mostly wanted to avoid any possible legal altercations over the matter.
 
Those Chaos dagger things are disgusting IMO. Yuck! I do like the royal Kukri and the All terrain Chopper. Are they really using 3v in some models now? That's good news.

I think that the proportions are off on the Royal Kukri and the ATC has a rather displeasing looking mass distribution to me. Time will tell, though. Can't write 'em off until they're actually available! :p I definitely agree regarding the Chaos knives. Mall ninjas will eat them for breakfast though. :rolleyes::D
 
That would be cool if Cold Steel was using 3V. But I won't get my hopes up. I do like the Smatchet, but really just as a joke.
If I needed another good folder I'd probably take a hard look at the aluminum triad lock knives.
But I do really like the looks of the Spike knives. I have always sort of been on the edge of buying one since my buddy came back from Iraq singing their praises. But now that they have a real handle I may pick one or two up. But really I don't see anything I need.
I really wish that they'd try and bring back Carbon V or something like it.

I see what you mean after looking them over a bit more. I wonder how thick the blades are going to be. I'll be wanting a review from you if you get them:)

The blades are alright on the Chaos thing (Just alright) but the handles are just plain fugly!
 
I am liking the look of the Talwars and the XL Recons. Will have to see what they look like in hand though.
 
Lordy I'm an easy touch for large folders.............................. that sit in a box with the rest gathering dust.

I'll probably get just one in for starters to see if I like 'em or not. If I do, I'll add them to the site. If not, I'll sell it off cheap. That's what I did with the SurvivalEdges. Like the concept in general but couldn't stand the execution.
 
Good thing they brought back the Bowie machete. I really can't complain about the new lineup except they didn't make a GI Bowie.
