Cold Steel Chaos has arrived

Sexy for sure, but at 10x price plus the wait, or mark up on the secondary market without the wait.

Knuckle knives are not a choice for me when shopping new knives, however my Brother-in-Law just ordered the Argonne Assault. Just saying if your gonna do it, go big. That Busse will chop through 10 of the Cold Steels and likely outlast 100 of them with any real use, so 10x the price point seems reasonable.

I have one too. Great blade for a cheap price. Unlike most knuckle knives this one is extremely comfortable in both grips. Razor sharp, It's just a lot of fun to own and hold. I love it. And hell yeah it'd make one devastating CQB weapon. People don't like it because its not politically correct. Well too bad, I couldn't care less what the sheeple think of my evil knife or my evil black AR either. Say what you want about it being illegal but so is anything over 4", anything double edged, and anything automatic where I'm from. So who cares. I just wont carry it around and its perfectly legal to own. I refuse to limit my collection to whatever society deems acceptable and neither should anyone else.

What is anybody going to use the Busse example for? Display piece for sure. One person is content to spend $50 on a display and another guy will spend $500 on something with the exact same role in their collection. Who cares anyhow I thought we liked knives here.

And practical? It's extremely practical for it's designed purpose. It's a weapon plain and simple. What makes a purpose driven weapon knife less practical then a boring 4" drop point bushcraft knife? Even if you weren't to use the knuckle duster part it's still alot of protection for your hand.

On a side note while the busse is no doubt a better knife, I much prefer the chaos in terms of design. It has a more open D guard that is a better choice for fat fingered guys like me. and the holes are not just in a straight line. As I said before it's extremely comfortable and since the knuckleduster guard limits grip choices you want a double edge.

I personally love cold steel and lin thompson. I think the fact that they have the balls to market some of their stuff as weapons and not sugar coat it, in this "be a victim" political climate makes them respectable in my eyes. You have to be willing to stand up for what you believe in. And once again I don't give a damn what the Sheeple think about it.

I'm calling BS on that. Yeah, the Busse will be an overall better knife, but when you get down to the nitty-gritty the improvements are going to get more and more incremental. If you like your Busse, that's great, but I guarantee you it ain't 10 times tougher than a similar knife with lesser steel, it won't cut 10 times better, it won't hold an edge 10 times longer. Busse makes one hell of a knife, but every high end manufacturer of anything runs into the point of diminishing returns really quickly, and they're no different.

Always wanted a 1918 trench knife...so i can see it theory why you may like it, but it looks cheap to me. But it would make a good pig sticker if you where into that sort of thing.

The more expensive the thing is, the more adamantly dudes who bought one will defend it.

Get one in your hand. It does NOT feel cheap. It weighs in around 1lb .5 oz.

Omg, this thread is alive over a year. CS couldn't have hoped for better advertisement. Lol

I'm just now seeing this. Friggin' Cold Steel made a trench knife homage; that's pretty hilarious. It's dumb looking, stupid, and pointless. And I also know that if I saw one on the table of this one guy I know who's always selling CS products at the flea market near me, I'd absolutely buy one just for the hell of it. :D

Looked at this months ago and again now that it has popped up once more... I sorta want one, pointless though it may be. I try hard to never buy knives I won't use but... sometimes... :D

I sometimes jest that Cold Steel touches my inner mall ninja, in a good way.

They make good knives, they make crazy knives, they love their jobs.

While I doubt I could get the double edged version here in New Zealand, that would cross too many boxes, there is a local retailer selling the tanto version.

I did just order a 10 inch Nepalise Kukri though, I suspect those have a far greater record for causing havoc than the Cold Steel Chaos trench knife.

I am waiting for one of these to come up in the trading forum. Anyway, for a trench knife in a fight, the cold steel would be better suited than the Busse. Double edged, a rear handguard, and more knuckle protection. The Busse, like all Busse knives, will be fondled, and only used to cut paper. That is why 99.99% of then are pristine when up on the trading or sale forums. Even decade old ones.

Lynn Thompson doesnt "have balls to market blah blah blah.....", he is creating products for people who, like him, live in a fantasy realm where such knives will be needed. Nobody fights in trenches anymore, and even if you did, almost any other fixed blade would be just as useful as the Chaos, but would also be able to stretch into the more practical realm and be used for other things than just CQC.... Thats why KABARs arent double edged with knuckles. Because sometimes they actually need to be used for something besides fighting, even though you could fight with one just fine
Lynn exited reality a long time ago. Just watch any of his videos where he "tests" the products. You know, makes sure the extra large diameter throwing stars will stick into doors, and the chinese battle swords slice pigs in two with a single swing!..... Jeez. I think the worst part is that he has to make sure to dress for the occasion with all black battle attire and at least 7 different knives on him... and a glock on his hip.......all in his parking lot......

That said, OP buy what you like and dont take shit from anyone. Oh and make sure you put in a trench in your yard so you can fight any haters in it with your new blade! :D

And yet Busse made a trench knife. I suppose ol Jerry has left reality, along with those who buy his knives. There are also Bussekin mall ninja katana looking things. Balisongs? Nearly every mainstream maker has some tacticool knives out there. I think that your thread has more to do with having an axe to grind with Thompson, and not the knife itself.

For what it is, and what the type of knife is supposed to be, it is very well done.

Maybe it is not the most practical knife for your purposes, but that can be said for nearly every knife, ever made, depending on the person you ask
