Cold Steel ideas for next years lineup ?

Cold Steel has made a name for them self by claiming the superiority of whatever steel that they are selling at the time, I watched through the 90's and 00's as they bashed all other steel types except theirs. I would be extremely suprised if they started using anything but their old standbys.

And as as smatchets are concerned most companies that make them in short runs due to the inherent danger of making something that large and double-edged. I think it was either Buck or Wells Creek that actually had a few employees lose fingers or hands during their production run of smatchets. And almost everybody else that makes them either does short production runs or charges a premium for them, most likely due to the fact that it takes fairly skilled grinder to make/finish one. Those highly skilled production grinder/finisher guys are usually to valuable to tie up on a relatively low demand item like a smatchet.

I find that surprising. The way I usually hold a double edged blade to work on the edge is by holding the handle with one hand and supporting the blade with my thumb from the back. I'd figure that would be plenty safe.

Not to mention if a smatchet isn't safe then how do they handle grinding all those double edged swords?

It must not be a high demand item though you'd think it would fit their customer base well.

they seriously need to make a 4 way position pocket clip because lint jams up the Tri Ad lock when you carry it in your pocket tip up sometimes......it could be a life or death situation and your Tri Ad lock wont lock up if there is lint stuck inside the lock.

I have some ideas for next year's lineup and I want to see the first one really badly:

-BETTER POCKET CLIPS! don't use such rough textured handles, tone it down a bit at least under the clip, and get a new, normal strength clip design.

Also I'd like to see a slender and classy folder with a long blade. Something like a Benchmade 710 but with a Tri-Ad lock.

I've been pestering them about making a katar for years now. Maybe now that Lynn has spent some time training with Nidar Singh Nihang that idea will go somewhere. I mean, they already have about half of their swords made in India anyhow, and traditional Indo-Persian arms aren't something that have seen a lot of exposure on the production market. I want a katar, pata, and khanda. And maybe a shashbura or bichwa.

I'd love to see them bring back their American classic pocket knives in carbon steel.

I'd like that, and I'd actually like to see something like a Puma Game Warden with a Tri-Ad lock. I appreciate the Lone Star and Mackinac hunters, but the aesthetics don't appeal to me that much.

I'd like to see basically an exact copy of this, but with a Tri-Ad lock stop pin (and no laser lettering on the blade). Maybe they could even make a Tri-Ad backlock as opposed to a midlock.
