Cold Steel vs Busse

Before you start criticizing my response, hear this:
Here is the reason why I think Cold Steel is better than Busse. It all comes down to “VALUE.” In terms of price and quality there really aren’t many knife makers that can beat Cold Steel. Especially in the area of fixed blades. This day and age with the current economic conditions everyone is looking to stretch their dollars. Another thing to understand is that human beings are naturally very visual. You can make a really nice knife, but if looks like a** what’s the point. It kind of like who would rather be with; Pamela Anderson (Cold Steel) or Martha Stewart (Busse). It’s really hard to pull out a Busse knife and get the “wow factor,” on the other hand you pull out a Cold Steel Trail Master and the “wow factor” is pretty much a guarantee. The slight performance advantage (if there is any) that busse has is completely nullified by the whole value and design factor. In coclusion… It’s all about value people.

You tell 'em, knife1001!

Cold Steel makes great products that does not put them in the same league as Busse in terms of materials, use, applications, and quality control. In this area Busse is the big winner and you pay for it.

Lynn, is that you?

Cold Steel vs. Busse? I would buy the Busse if I had the money to spend, without a doubt.

Busse, ugly? Be careful, hogs are known to eat people alive.

But, people are entitled to their opinion. Even if it is a rough start, welcom to the forums knife1001.

At least compared with Busse. On the other hand, Cold Steel would probably do pretty well in comparison with say, an iron blade.

Try to use each of them and you will know.
I used to think only rich wimps buy Busse knife. But now I own two BMs and am happy to increase that number whenever opportunities arise. Hate to be called convert, however there seems to be no other way to explain why I throw away those ideas I thought were sensible.

Busse are made by humans they can be broke. I might want to remind you that US special forces carried plenty of humble USAF pilot survival knives in Nam' and there were few complaints.

That's weird. I have heard lots of complaints about the pilot survival knives. I've heard lots of complaints about the M9 series of bayonets as well.

OMG, I thought this thread died along with the Dot Coms.

Martha Stewart and Pam Anderson. Hmm. So who would you take in a knife fight. Remember, one of them has been to prison.

It really comes down to this. Busse = Godzilla, Cold Steel = Bambi.

For a better demonstration look up the short animation film. It won and Oscar I think.

;)

This is the knife guarantee from both knife makers:

Cold Steel Website
Cold Steel knives represent real, solid value for the money backed by our unconditional 30-day guarantee of complete satisfaction.

Busse Website
With a steel like INFI it's easy to understand why we offer the toughest guarantee in the business. We guarantee against any and all unintentional MAJOR damage forever.

You may want to look up “VALUE” in a dictionary.

Oh ya, this is an old freakin thread!

Walking Man, is that you? :p

I Really love Busse's products except for one thing.....most of their products are to big for most people to EDC. There are exceptions, I know (Assault Shaker, Bad Apple, some variants.) But if your looking for something to carry everyday....Cold Steel has more options.

Jerry? you reading this?

I'd say he was listening:
