Cold Steel vs Busse

everyone realizes this thread is over 6 yrs old, correct?

Yes. It's a bit like monologue or diary, at least for me. The threads are just stimuli to re-focus attention on some thoughts. And the great bonus is that you get some unique inputs probably will never run through your mind all by yourself from fellow blade users.

It’s really hard to pull out a Busse knife and get the “wow factor"
Yeah, all these fragile Battle Mistresses always remind me of my butter knives in the kitchen, not to mention the AKs. Why the hell does Busse even use coloured handles? Black kraton is so badass!!

It kind of like who would rather be with; Pamela Anderson (Cold Steel) or Martha Stewart (Busse).

You're asking me to choose between the woman with hepatitis C and the woman who has the intelligence and strength of will to create a business empire, pay for mistakes (or appearance thereof) with jailtime, and still keep going?

I really like the Cold Steel brand knives I own, but every time I pick up a Busse brand Fusion Battle Mistress, the thought in my skullcase is "it's a good thing."

It really depends on which type of knife your talking about. cold steel offers a lot of knifes others don't make or offer and the price of cold steel is sometimes hard to turn down.

You're comparing a Toyota Tercel against a Mclaren F1 in the world of cars. By that Busse being the Mclaren F1 of course

Just my two cents: Pictures don't do a Busse justice - I never understood why people go crazy over them until I broke down and got one. When you hold one, it screams quality and durability. Now I own several cold steels and Busse Knives. The one thing I'll say about Cold Steel is that at all their price points, from the 50's through the hundreds, they offer a lot of value for the money. That said, when I have hundreds to spend, I don't usually buy another cold steel - Once you break the 300 dollar mark, there's better choices for the money.

it died, was brought back to life, died, then back to life. just put this thread out of its misery. if you want a quality blade get a busse, if you want a blade that will be so so and wont hold an edge well get a cold steel. :/

Threads like this are amazing. It's like looking into the past through a veil of pale mist.

I had a bedtime in the days that the OP was made. Yeah, we're going way back. And to think that there are still people dwelling on this topic...

BUSSE ALL THE WAY!!! Sold my cold steel san mai Rs have'nt looked back. :)

I would choose almost anything over Cold Steel, just my opinion.

I have to laugh every time I run across videos of Lynn swinging a samurai sword like a bat. I am sure they have great knives, I have two of their Kukri machetes, but the man just turns me off...
