Why not both?
Other companies have done both at a reasonable price, so Cold Steel can as well.![]()

. . . Despite these, I'm eagerly watching for the new Hold Out III. I hate all the finger grooves and overly complicated handle designs of late -- so to see something so streamlined and simple from this company in particular is a nice surprise.
If I look past its tactical aspirations, the Hold Out III's shape even reminds me of a traditional puuko, which is really why I'm interested in it in the first place.

Lets face it, most snobs use their knives less in five years than many working class "average Joes" do in a day on the farm.

True but I think the tri-ad is the strongest.

I'll bet you a Double Double from In and Out
The only REAL Double Double is from Tim Horton's.:grumpy:

What's Tim Horton's...... precious... !??

You must make a pilgrimmage to a Tim Horton's...that's way more important than the choice of blade steel.
If they just started selling knives, I'd never leave.![]()
Well my woman and I are talking of taking a road trip way up North for our hunnymoon , so maybe we will see a Tim Horton's along the way !
I do hope the coffee is better than the swill they sell at Dunkin' donuts !

Most often yes.
I have encountered weak coffee at a couple, but overall it has been good.
Get a breakfast sandwich if you get there before 11am (noon on weekends).
Roger that. To keep the thread on topic , I can cut the sandwich with my Mini AL to test edge retention

I cut 2 pounds of bacon the other day with my old Cold Steel Master Tanto. I think the San Mai 3 they used back then had an AUS-8 core.
Worked awesome. Cuts wood with chopping, batonning, AND slices bacon into thin, yummy strips. Not bad at all.![]()
I want to get a master tanto at some point.
I did just that with my Black Rhino (Andrew Demko made a new blade out of CPM-154 with an even more robust edge geometry) but it's not something I'd like to do for every CS folder I've got my eye on. A custom made blade will be very expensive, even if made from a relatively common steel like 154CM, which would make it pointless to buy (for example) an American Lawman.or how about those who want the best of both worlds, get the CS you like and have a replacement blade made for it IE contact a custom maker or even better make it yourself
THIS knife reminds you of a puukko?
