FWIW the obits are not an accurate indicator of if someone has died, i know of 2 instances myself in the last year when a person i know died, and it wasnt in the obit.

why??

they both were from up north and all family was up north, even though they had both lived in austin for many years (20+), no wife/kids, might have been in paper up north but i know it was not in the local paper. i thought the local paper would put a small notice in on there own, for the good of the people, etc, but they dont always do this. by small notice i mean the smaller list with a date of death, name, funeral home listed.

anyway point being the 2 folks i knew were not listed in the paper period end, nothing.

Not to highjack this thread any farther, but my thoughts are...if a young man dies from some complication during a routine (?) surgery, the newspapers just might report on it as a regular story.

Part of the purpose of Obit's are to alert friends and family that might have been unaware of the persons passing. Think of the days before telephones, the newspapers were the fastest way to get information out to the public. Obit's also allow the family the make public the death, the date and time of the viewing (Christian) and the funeral (burial.)

Strikingly odd that Justins family had the time to send out knives and extra goodies, but didn't have time to fill out basic paperwork to have his Obit published.

However, at the end of the day, people got what they paid for and perhaps Keeler has crawled back under his rock for a little while.

Too many possibilities here. But it isn't difficult to pull such a scam. I'm gonna write Mr. Bud Keeler a letter and see what happens.

He was kind enough to let his family know all the details of his dealings and with whom and what was owed.......even to add a little extra......right before he passed. :(  :p

I can hear the world's smallest violin playing, "My Heart Bleeds for You", as he crosses through those gates.......and we ALL know which ones I'm talkin' about!

Damn, it's hot...... :D

I have no dog in this fight, but I have been following the thread, as I had one deal with Justin, that as IIRC, went well.

If you check zabasearch.com, you can find both Justin and Bud Keeler on OK. As for his surgery, there is a type of surgery for obesity where part of the intestines are removed, and it is pretty high risk. Finally, I wouldn't rely 100% on obits, as a relative of my wife's died, and there was no obit, calling hours, or funeral (which is a weird story in itself). You could try to check with the county medical examiner if you want the absolute truth.

You have got to be kidding me?? Since you have the date of his "death", thisn't there a local newspaper?? Pick up the phone and call. They should be able to check the Obit's.

Otherwise, this guy and his fake brother are total tools, caught in a lie.

*** EDIT***Okay, check this out...I just found a website for the Oklahoman, a newspaper in OKC. NO ONE named Keeler died in 2005! Found this info inless then 10 minutes.
All deaths are not listed in the newspaper. Puttin a name in the obituary section is only done when someone pays to have it put there.
