Collectorknives.net #85 SFO?

Early when the 2011 forum knife was being designed and such, I wasn't sure I liked the pattern that much, but after getting that forum knife, the pattern has grown on me. It certainly has plenty of blade. The easy open feature is great and I may get another if I can find some money somewhere before they are all gone. But more 92s are coming.

I would love to get my hands on a 2011 BF knife.

I hear ya about the 92s. I like the look of the Northfield 92s enough to pick one up, but if I'm going to hold out for anything, it will have to be for the upcoming 68 Pony Jacks.

My group arrived earlier this week. It's been a gray few days here but I finally took some pics. These knives are really nice as seems to be most of the GECs I've handled recently. Don't have much more to say that hasn't been said already.

A quick shot with the different African Black wood in my collection. Up until these #85s, I only had Damascus dagger Dan Graves made for me. I kinda expected the dark/purplish browns but the light stuff was surprise to me. I really like the way it looks though.

Here's my user #73ECL with the #85ECL. The tab is farther back on the #85 than I'm used to and its taller but I haven't found this to be an issue yet. I can manipulate the #73s lock no problem but have to look down at the #85. This will probably change with use.

Love my african black wood so much that I ordered a jigged bone this morning. Now, do I use both or put one away? Love this new knife!

Your feathered horn looks great Trand!
Been carrying this ivory bone since they came. I think it'll look wonderful with patina.

I finally got a pic of the pile side. It's difficult to photograph, but it appears to be a peice of endgrain with some reddish swirls in it if you catch the angle just right.
Please excuse the lousy phone pic

Beautiful collection! Your photos display the variances in the african black wood very nicely. Thanks for sharing!

You guys are killing me! I had to order another! Yellow bone to go with my black wood And ivory bone! Between Charlie and Mike I'm going to be broke!

I put mine through its paces today, cutting down this old vine that was choking my holly tree, and it was still sharp enough to neatly cut up apricots and apples after.

I like how my ring finger locks into the ez open notch when I have to forcefully bear down on the knife.

I already am (at least in knife funds)..... One of these, Forum Knife, Queen Gunstock, and a Michael Morris Friction Folder have been paid for in the past two weeks. And we got some new 92s, the Pony Jack coming. I'd really really like to see the #81 as a stockman and some horse cut bone....... ouch.

Story of my life since finding this forum and sub-forum. Between traditionals and custom fixed, the ol bank account is panting.

That smooth ivory bone looks really, really nice. I go back and forth between wanting a nice, smooth scale and then wanting something with texture and jigging. Usually end up carrying both. Need to stop buying 73s and save for one of these.

P&G:

Is that old one EC Simmons?
What is the secondary blade, coping?

She's lovely!
