Collectorknives.net #85 SFO?

Hi Folks,
Yes, new here and new to buying knives that cost more than a few bucks. Over the past few months I've bought several GECs. For the past couple of weeks I've been using a #85. Yep, the main blade for cutting vegetables, peeling apples, and making sandwiches. The smaller blade for everything else including some whittlin'. Yes, I have a two blade SFO #85 on the way.
Here's my question, for those of you who buy the one blade model to use, why the one blade vs the two?
I've found a nice stag #85 with the cut out that's a single blade and I'm trying to talk myself into buying it.
Any sage advice or comments from you folks will be greatly appreciated.
Also, do any of you use a #85 for EDC?
If it's of any help, I have three JBF knives (well, gave one to my brother), am using the first edition ebony and have three boys' knives (all two blade).
Regards,
George

I like the one blade models because they feel a little thinner and liter weight in the pocket. Just seems to make them a little more comfortable to carry.
Thanks

Particularly on the 85 models, I prefer the single blade for the easier access to the blade. When you put a secondary blade in front of the main on a non-EO 85, it becomes a bit difficult to open (at least on all my examples). I also prefer the thinner profile and the look of the single blade as well.

Buy the EO stag 85...I'm surprised those are still available. I have one it is one of my most carried knives.

I owned one of those single blade stag 85 EOs for a week or so and sold it away. Here's why: for that particular blade shape and size I couldn't justify not having a multiblade (the same logic doesn't hold true for other patterns--don't know why--just didn't like the feel of it.) It was of course a great knife but I always wanted something shorter and pointier alongside that big balloon spear blade. That's why I got the jack version of this SFO and why I like the 92 Eureka as well--the spear and coping combination is a winner in my opinion. Also this knife assuages some of the pain of not owning one of the 2011 EOs...yet ;)

I currently rotate carry between the #92 and #85 the JBF Champlins. I have a 2 blade SFO #85 on the way as well. While I really like the JBF I think the SFO will be even a better carry with the EO and the coping blade.

Put orders in for a 2 blade blackwood and a 2 blade yellow bone, couldn't decide which I liked best so figured I'd have to get both. Anxiously awaiting their arrival to my mailbox.

Guess what's in here.......

Sorry, at work, that's all I have time for right now.

That antique yellow bone looks a lot nicer than I thought it would....gonna have to seriously consider one of those too. Thanks for posting Mark.

I got mine a few minutes ago. It is the liner lock model in African blackwood. I really like the piece of wood they used on my knife. The photo is a bit overexposed relative to the blade, but it shows the blackwood really well. I like the knife, but the liner lock is tedious for me.

I'll try to do better with pictures later this afternoon.

The wood is full of character. Maybe the lock will wear in to your satisfaction.
