Composite Blade Shallot

What's the rest of that address there, buddy? Inquiring, traveling minds want to know!

The only thing that was even real about what info is in that post is the state. You think I want you deviants showing up on my door step ?:p.... Or better yet, let you know where I have my collection stashed:eek::D

Besides ... I know from my SG2/Ti JYD II, which IIRC is like .011" behind the edge, that there must be some with Darksider leanings working there at Kershaw.
Alas, I don't think darksiders will find much leaning in your direction on this particular piece. The one at my desk measured in at a healthy .025". :o

Is the thickness throughout the entire blade thinner? I figured the pivot area of the blade would be the standard Shallot thickness, with it tapering down near the point... We'll see. I was also looking forward to putting this blade on a -CKT black handle. Or maybe a titanium one if Kershaw does that in the future.

Just ordered mine, can't wait to get it here! I'll have to think up some sort of ludicrously beautiful and creative backgrounds for the pictures I take of it if I want to match you guys, eh? ;) Man, if you told me a year ago that I'd be ordering a knife off the internets at 1:35 A.M., I'd say "Man, one-year-in-the-future-me totally rocks!". So I guess (thanks to Kershaw) I totally rock now. Good thing we're all going to get ZDP Shallots; now we will all rock. :D :D :D

Appreciate the info, Thomas. .025" is cool IMO, given the size of the Shallot and the fact that it's meant to be an EDC piece.

Honest, I'm not one of those evil Darksiders ... just a guy who appreciates some of what they preach, and tries to keep a balanced perspective. Sometimes it's a precarious balancing act....

0.025" should please any non-Darksider looking for a thin edge without feeling like he or she is cutting with flattened eggshell (or recurved as the case may be ;) ) and is quickly thinned with a coarse hone by anyone else. If that's not good enough for He Who Shall Never Be Pleased, let him open his own company and try doing "better."

At least it will be less work for Tom Krein to grind down, as most of the work has been done already. I love my Krein'ed Blue Bump. It's 0.010" behind the edge. S30V takes a wicked edge at that profile. I'd love to see what the ZDP would do.

I would think so Mike. But the convex edge I put on my wireless mouse is starting to bother me...:D
