computer help :grumpy:

Try Dann's suggestion. Do a sys restore to Monday, or the closest date you have available when you know you weren't bugged. You won't lose any data, just "re-set" the OS, sorta.

Your browser is re-directing, so it's malware. It won't spread (at this point I hope). My guess is some type of Myzor file.

Or try this:

Upon further dissection, I guess you can't try this, because your browser keeps re-directing. I know you have a system restore point on the 9th, or you should have if you updated. Roll back to that date. Write this down, re-boot your computer, and start it up in safe mode. Then follow the directions. It will help if you have another computer to link to for instructions. When you re-boot from safe mode, use the Ccleaner I mentioned earlier first thing to get your Registry cleaned and sorted out.

Hey guys...sorry for the delayment. I only work weekends (have classes during the week), so needless to say I have been busy. Now the problem computer is having problems even getting on the network, and the other computer is just soooo slow. I am going to try and do the suggestions on my sisters laptop. I will let you know soon

Update

Alright, when I try to download MalawareBytes it says "Setup was unable to create the directory "C:\Program Files\Malawarebytes' Anti-Malaware".
Error 5: Access is denied"

When trying to download CCleaner, it says "Error opening file for writing:
C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner.exe

Click Abort to stop the installation, Retry to try again, or Ignore to skip this file"
**Note I did successfuly run Cureit on the computer, it that matters at all :p

Tried downloading Spybot, got this message, "Error sending request. The server name or address could not be resolved"

Tried downloading Avast and got this message "Not enough user rights to continue"

Man, do I hate my life right now.

You have to use another computer to make a bootable CD with the software you need on it. Then boot the infected computer from that CD. The malware can't write to the CD so it can't interfere with the process of removing it.

I used another computer and booted from a jump drive...would there be a difference in the two?

It can write to the jump drive and mess it up. The point of using a CD is the malware can't write to it.

Got it...i'll see if I have any blanks lying around. Either that, or go into my sister's room

Go to your "Run" button on your menu. Type "msconfig". Click "Startup". Click "Disable All". Reboot. See if that helps. If it won't let you into msconfig, try typing "regedit".

good tip cougar. i did tell him that a jumpdrive can become infected and not to remove it once its plugged in. he can scan it with an antivirus and spyware scanner once he gets things cleaned up

dont go into regedit, you can get into all kinds of trouble in there if you dont know what you are doing.

Another interesting thing about the computer, I tried opening the "Run" button, and as soon as I type something in and run in, the black box pops up and immediately leaves! Interesting, ain't it?

Alright...well nothing still will download(still haven't tried the CD's yet). I successfully uninstalled Norton's Personal Firewall (a.k.a. Nortons Personal Pain in the A$$), but Symantec Antivirus remains, and I think it's trying to say I need the disc to uninstall it. Does that make sense? If its the case, I need to get the cd of the co-worker i copied it from

I've never had to do it, but I know a local computer pro who does a lot of business cleaning malware off people's computers. That's the way he does it, with a CD. He tells me some of the malware around can infect anything else you connect to an infected computer and protect itself that way (and spread) but no matter what the hackers do with software they can't write to a CD.
