Concerns About Survive! Business and Misleading Lead Time Estimates

There's nothing that can be provided to this thread to make this issue any better. Survive knives has reneged on their deal lied and deceived their customers. The best way to move forward with this is to delete the whole entire survive knives thread. They're being investigated customers are disgruntled there's no reason to go back and forth about this company. They can't fix the issues at least not in a timely manner. let's say I waited on my GS012 it will be two and a half to 3 years before I actually receive a knife that I paid full price for and during that time i will continued to be Lied to and deceived. Delete this whole entire survive knives thread. They don't have a moderator to govern what's going on. it doesn't need to stay open

Exactly. There were some very substantial and serious allegations being thrown around, and all other critiques of the S!K business aside, it behooves the poster of them to deliver some substantiation.

I really don't think we'll see any.

If the allegations are true, regardless of how unlikely I think that is, I'm 100% sure we'd all like to know, and have them corroborated properly.

Alternately, the term libel has been thrown around here loosely in the past, but it applies here.

I don't know... he's a busy man that owns asuccessful business that doesn't screw over his customers. Maybe he's got better things to do than try to explain survive knives current situation to a biased group

I see you are on scorched earth quest. But I am sure there are plenty SK customer that are not hardcore (or even lightcore) blind fans and have been caught in the crossfire. I am sure those people would appreciate updates from other customers how things where handled.

Since there have been some really harsh attacks in this thread against Silver Needle, I'm going to state right here that he is as good a guy as you'd ever want to deal with. I've never seen him rail against anyone the way a couple of folks have against him.

Also, T. Erdelyi: Ted, I know you don't know me from Adam, but I read through most of the forum so am somewhat familiar with you. If you'd like to check out any of the S!Ks I have I'd gladly send one out for a bit. I have original models 3.5, 4.1 and 10, and new models 2.7 and 4.7. Shoot me a PM if you'd like, and cheers.

The last time I provided solid evidence regarding another knife manufacturer shady business practices... i had multiple people from this group that ran there their mouth to that company. next thing you know I had two attorneys calling me and threatening lawsuits. he is aware of that. And that's probably the reason why he's going to back out providing more information about survive knives. Feel free to contact Peter that does all the Heat Treating and maybe he'll provide that information to you. Until then moderators need to seriously consider shutting down the whole entire survive knives thread.

The thread is fine. Your half-lidded libel, and your aggression, on the other hand, are causing problems. You've rendered it impossible to discuss this topic non-histrionically.

Correct. There should already be one company rep moderating but there isn't and we don't know why. We're working on finding out and correcting this. After there is a company rep. mod, they can ask pretty anyone they want to help out as additional mods.
 
Heres the thing, if you're upset about the wait, then cancel and move on.
Iv'e noticed that the wait time is long for the knives, so instead I've chosen to just wait for factory seconds.
I got my 5.1 that way, and Ellie couldn't have been more pleasant in helping me as I had chosen the wrong scales.

I want a GSO 8, but have chosen to wait rather than pre order. No harm no foul.
I totally get people getting upset if they had been told the knives would be ready at a certain time,, but coming here as a Busse fan, I'm no stranger to an unknown wait.
What do I do in the meantime? Buy other knives, use the ones I have, and hang out with my family.
What don't I do? Go on insane rants about space, melting knives, and popcorn, but thats just me :D

Watercut knives, actually, with fantastic ergos, top-shelf materials, great designs, superb sheaths, great grinds, and crazy edges. They're worth the money. There's no misplaced hype where it concerns their products.

It seems like they've simply slid into a very bad backlog hole, and aren't handling it very well at all. I see them as a company in trouble with bad coping skills, not a machiavellian den of thieves.

That's a far cry from deserving the amount of rage that's being directed at them. Dissatisfaction and frustration, I get. But not the hate and rage that's bubbling out. Which is a bit weird.

Alot of knife production companies cant stand this group. One in particular said we're a bunch of crybaby snitches.
