Contest- Name this knife pattern!

Keeping with the functional names of other CPK knives, how about simply Camp Knife or Utility Knife? Not very glamorous but they match the purposes to which the knife will actually be used most of the time.

Reliant,
Quest,
Backwoods/Backcountry
Aztec
Steel Warden,
Woods King (opposite of safe queen)
Log Biter
Avalon
Arcadia ( after the classical Greek pasture and woodland. It basically is a term that means rustic country living, named after a greek province in history)

I don't like names that are acronyms or numbers. That is because when a company has like 5 different knives with a different acronym for their name each it becomes hard to remember which one is which.

Are you looking for a serious name or a funny joke name?

The working name was "survival knife", but that doesn't work because A: it's somewhat meaningless, and B: it would cause some confusion because of our affiliation with Survive Knives.

I like a lot of the names that have been suggested and I appreciate you folk's efforts. I've been reading the suggestions as they've been posted but Jo and I need to sit down and go through them. I think, at the end of the day, the name needs to be meaningful and say something about the knife. I may call it something like "heavy duty woods knife" <--- that's awful and has no ring to it, but it tells you what it is. It's not a bush craft knife, it's not a weapon, it's not something you'd use at the job site in construction or in a shop, it's a big damn heavy duty rough use knife that you would carry into the woods or into a situation where you know you might need to stress your knife and need to know it's up to the task. It's what you grab when you need something a little bigger and more robust than a regular field knife. I need a name that communicates that.

Eureka! I think that you found the name on your own! CPK-WKHD as in it's a woods knife and it is heavy duty one, or CPK-HWK as an abbreviated version translating to Heavy Woods Knife ;)

I've never been a big fan of long acronyms but since I only drink the Carohters' koolaid these days, while understanding that performance, functionality and relevance is the name of your game as opposed to some fancy collection item (which you are evidently also uber capable of producing almost as much as any other master craftsman, given the necessary amount of time and re$ources), I don't think you will lose one sale if you decided to name the darn thing: CPK-ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ! :D

Since the goal is to come up with a name that communicates sturdiness, perhaps just going straight for that is an approach you might take:
CPK - Sturdy
CPK - Robust (or Robustus since I like archaeological sounding terms)
CPK - Robust Survival Knife

Nathan just use your own ideas as I'm giving myself a headache! Carothers Robust Woods Knife: CRWK

What's wrong with "survival" knife? Many of the suggested names mean that in another language. It seems that the name has already been decided by the majority of users.

CPK RUK - Rough Use Knife
HUK - Hard Use Knife
