Yummy! That looks creamylicious!

Plus I see that excellent bacon poking up from the bowl!

I love bleu cheese too -

Mmmmmmm, comfort food at it's finest.

Looking good Todd - I love pot pies.

I took a twist on grunt soldier's pulled pork pancakes, and sprinkled applewood smoked minced bacon on a pancake before I flipped it -

A friend hired Karen to cook for him and his guests last night. Here is a little taste of what she made. She will add some more when she gets time.
Life is good when you have a chef at home.

I cheffed for a dinner party. It was a success!
The menu:

Pesto Cheesecake/crackers
Shrimp Cocktail (served on crushed ice in green tinted martini glasses; my homemade cocktail sauce and fresh lemons)
Baby greens and herbs salad that included mandarin oranges, thinly sliced fresh fennel, bacon, chopped shallot, and my homemade garlic croutons. Roasted red pepper dressing. (I forgot to take a pic). Served in bright spring green bowls.
New York steaks, with Mountain Mix, sauteed and braised.
Pan roasted asparagus
Baby red potatoes w/dill weed, butter
Garnish of blanched sweet red and yellow peppers, snow peas and sugar snap peas
Stuffed crimini mushrooms
Lemon sorbet with fresh strawberries and fresh blueberries (I forgot to take pics)
Smoked sea salted caramels (homemade by me) (I forgot to serve these! More for me at home, then!)

The theme was "Spring is coming!"
The centerpiece was 6 primroses, which each guest could take home with them!
The plates were all in a flower motif, each plate unique.
Erath Vineyards Pinot Noir was served to those who wished, otherwise tea, water and coffee were the beverages.
The word tiles around the pesto cheesecake were amusing and a conversation starter. Fun.

I wanna go home.
I'm hungry.

This was a first for me and I thought I would share. At the grocery store yesterday, oxtail caught my attention. I have never tried it so I gave it a go. A quick internet search gave me a recipe that sounded promising, so today I gave it a try. Braised foe 3 hours in beef broth, red wine, garlic, and other goodies. Veggies added in the last 20 minutes. Seriously delicious. This one is going in the recipe file box for sure.

If you have never tried oxtail, give it a go!

Oxtail is a best kept secret! Being Filipino, I always had it growing up in a dish called Kare Kare. Good stuff! Oxtail is getting expensive now that folks are catching on to how good it is.

BTW rdrogers good job on he oxtail. I'm sure they left your fingers and lips nice and sticky!

My good friend always uses oxtail in his tomato gravy, along with sausage.

Good flavor!

We had oxtail soup a lot when I was growing up, my grandma and mom used to make it.

I've never had it but that sure looks good.
