Try some of the salt on any type of melon.
I put some alder smoked Cape Perpetua Sea Salt on some cantaloupe & man that was some good stuff.
I'll be doing some steaks with Mtn.Mix tonight & I bought some more cantaloupe for desert.MmMmGood.
I stopped at the store yesterday after work & was checking out some steaks to try the Mountain Mix on,but all the Beef T Bones were way too scrawny for me.
I didn't see the right one until I got to the end of the meat display & noticed some great looking T Bones with plenty of meat on both sides of the T,but they were Buffalo & priced a bit more than the beef steaks.
I said what the heck,I'm worth it & I hadn't had a good steak for quite awhile & was jonesing for one so I went for it.....
And boy was it worth it.
Buffalo T Bone with Mountain Mix,baked potato with butter, sprinkled with Table Mountain Pepper and for desert..cantaloupe with a bit of Gale Wind Sea Salt.
Before the carnage....
Mid carnage, getting kinda full here, but man I can't stop now!
The Mountain Mix was perfect on the Buffalo, not too overpowering but very tasty.
And the aftermath..ahhhhhh that was good!
T is for Toby's Knife,a great steak knife it is.
Desert!
If like me,you like salt on your cantaloupe, you gotta try some smokey Gale Wind Sea Salt,it's more subtle than the Cape Perpetua Sea Salt I had on the last cantaloupe.Being Cherry wood smoked,it adds just a hint of smokey flavor, while the Alder Wood smoked Perpetua reminded me of the smoked Salmon that is so plentiful up here. Not to say it is fishy,it just has a stronger smokey flavor & would be perfect on a fish dish.
Yeah..I said fish dish.
Thank you Chef Karen!
I can't wait to try the Landlubber Mix on some pork chops.
