Cool stuff at SHOT show

I'm not a survivalist, but what are the survival uses for an arrow head? I don't think it likely that those out in the wilderness will have the time nor inclination to make a bow and arrow. Is it just a collectible?

Oh, and Mrs. Shotty, did you get to see the Izula scales in person? If so, what did you think?

If you were out there long enough, you would have wished you had the inclination to do so. And it may be that time is the only thing you have.

It's about improvisation, you can use an arrow head for a lot of things other than sticking on the end of an arrow to be shot out of a bow.

Plenty. For example...

There are lots of other possibilities as well--there was a thread on it a ways back. You can read it HERE. :)

Maybe for spearing fish? Or mounting it on a spear shaft trap?

didnt see that FortyTwoBlades beat me to it...

Don't forget use as a drill bit, too. Mount it in the end of the spindle on a bow drill and suddenly you can build things you couldn't before. ;)

I looked at it and started thinking about getting one, grinding one edge off and putting it in my survival kit as an extra little utility blade. it would remove some of it's use as an arrow head, but you could still use it for most of the other purposes.
and at $12 dollars a peice I can't see it being to expensive to try, assuming it ever hits the UK (fingers crossed)
actually, the lite machete looks pretty good too. although I was planning to get a machete while I was out in peru........
any idea when it's gonna hit the UK market?

The number of uses I've seen and thought of have really made me excited to get a couple of the arrow heads. Its size makes it easy to include in just about any kit.

I can't think of a single true use for it. If you truly need one you are probably in way over your head and a arrow head or two isn't going to make much of a difference. It would make more sense too not be in the situation. But I still will get one maybe 2.

who doesnt need arrowheads? :D

No offense to the guys having trouble seeing the use for them, but that's cool more for the rest of us. I am anxious to see the other two sizes.

Thanks, FortyTwo. I didn't even think about snares. That link is pretty informative as well. :D:thumbup:

That's what I thought of right after I posted. I was lazy and decided not to edit, though. That would be the most likely thing I'd use the arrowhead for. I have no experiences with snares.

The "unusable edge" that comes on most machetes is so the user can put whatever sort of edge on it they want, whether it be for light grasses all the way up to hardwoods.

That's the way that that Imacasa's stock edge is, but the ESEE Lite Machete has the Condor polished convex edge put on it (so it's sharp). ;)

I NEED that machete. :p

Forty I need one!!!!!:D got the Money now !!!
