Count them! Who owns the most folding knives on BladeForums?

I keep an inventory of all my folders in a spreadsheet and at last count I think I was about to hit 400.

How many have you ever carried? How many are duplicates? I just can't imagine having 400... it would seem more a hassle than an asset.

I've bought 13 knives, mostly in the 7-8 years, and about $1300 spent. Most of the money spent was in the last 2 years. Too many and too much for my liking but I won't sell any, I will probably give some away though. I will probably buy some more knives in my life but probably not many.

I have somewhere between 75 and 100 folders. I know that's a drop in the bucket compared to many here. I'm going backwards trying to get rid of unused knives and impulse buys and trying to focus more on quality.

I will be buying more in the future for sure...10 knives isn't cutting it (no pun intended). I would love to have 100 but I bet that'll take me a decade to reach. I can't imagine having 400...I'd definitely have a specially made plinth to showcase them, just not sure where in the house my wife would allow it...it would probably have to be in the garage!

holy crap...80 is a lot, but 310 is insane....do you have any pics?!

Nope, not all together. I do have a few group shots of certain types, but no more than a dozen or so in the same pic.

There are folks here with a LOT more than me. :)

I know Lone Wolfe has quite a few sebbies and I'm sure she has a ton more knives on top of that impressive collection. I'd like to see some real heavy hitters check in here!

I could see owning 100 or 200 guns (potentially lots of value), but I can't see myself ever owning 200 knives since I never sell one. They do pile up and I don't keep count. I don't even know how many firearms I own.

Nice, I'm still working on my first firearm. It will be a glock 26...can't wait! Probably get it mid summer.

I've significantly carried probably about 150 or so of them over the years. There are many that I get and immediately store in Spyderpacs or Kershaw knife bags because they just don't "cut it". I have a rotation of 64 favorite folders that I keep in a 64-drawer hardware storage cabinet for carry. When I get new knife that I like well enough to regularly carry, something gets the boot out of the cabinet to a storage bag. But honestly, I've fondled and handled every one of the 400 knives. There are only a couple of "safe queens"...a Kershaw Ruby and a couple of ZT0392s...but I have a feeling I'll carry them someday too. It's not really a hassle at all, fortunately folders don't take up that much space and are easy to organize.

In terms of duplicates...I have a complete collection of Kershaw Skylines (which are actually safe queens) as well as a few custom Skylines I've picked up over the years...so 20 plus of them are Skylines. I've got a several Griptilians, a couple different PM2's, a couple of Delicas, a couple RATS...maybe a few others. Many of the knives in my collection are cheap knives. I've got a bunch of Red Riders, Chinese Kershaws, Chinese Spydercos, Chinese CRKT's, Enlans and SRM's. I've even got some POS auction site knives. I keep those as a learning experience or to demonstrate to a friend how bad a knife can be :barf:

I have a knife budget every month and sometimes even stay within it! I've noticed something changing in my collecting recently however...unless I'm really stoked over a $100 knife, I'd rather pass on 5 of them and save money for a single $500 knife. I can look back and see when I began to pass on five $20 knives to get a $100 knife and I'm a little afraid of where this might end.

Anyway, I'm not a hoarder. I promise. If anyone has an interest in seeing my spreadsheet, shoot me a pm with your email and I'll send you a copy.
