Count them! Who owns the most folding knives on BladeForums?

Not counting manufacturers of course, I'm wondering who has the most folding knives in their collection by count on this forum. It's certainly not me. I own 10 folding knives. But I imagine somebody on here holds the title for supreme folding knife collector! Is it 175? Is it 500? Maybe over 1000!

With respect this is irrelevant, Why? I saw on QVC or the Home Shopping Channel at like 3am I was up they were selling like 300 Knives of various kinds for $199

I would rather have 20 Knives of Quality and Best In Class or Ultra Rare collectors items like a Kershaw Tilt that just a ton of knives.

What were you doing up at 3:00AM?!

I like threads like this because it PROVES I'm not the crazy one! I just finished taking photos of the latest acquisitions for "just in case" purposes and at last count it's 80 or so folders plus 8 swords and miscellaneous dive knives and a couple crappy fantasy knives. I've only been collecting for about 3 years though, so give me time to catch up. There's definitely those out there who have it bad, though. I started on the AAPK site and MAN, you should see some of the collections on there...! Just drawers upon drawers upon cases upon workbenches filled with all things sharp and pointy. This is one contest I DON'T want to win! I keep telling myself, "This is the LAST one! My collection is complete," and...well,...you ALL know what happens then.

Well, it's definitely not me, I only own 5 "good" knives...BUT I definitely do think that my collection is worth more $$ than the knives owned by about 99.3% of the American population (excluding our membership on here!). Not that it really matters, but many people just don't appreciate nice high quality knives. Oh well, more for us!

I'm sitting right at 110, including all folders and fixed blades, and a couple multi-tools with blades, as well as 2 Japanese "Swords" ( 24" blade Katana and 13" blade tanto)

They have all been carried and used, with the exception of carrying the Japanese swords (no practical situation in which to carry them), though they have been used.

If I had to average the value over all knives, I would probably come out around $80-100 per, after including the more expensive pieces.

As an additional statistic, I'd be interested to see if the age of the collector has any correlation with the number of knives owned. My knives per year lived is 2.6

I have 3 folders and two fixed blades in my "collection".... and 3 SAKs.... and 5 multi tools...

Some of you guys have insane amounts of knives.

On all of em? That's gonna take a while LOL... That's why I took pics with the custom knives mixed with known production knives; it's easy to get an idea of blade length and overall size at a glance.;)

I've been collectin' for nearly 40+ years and in that time I've accumulated nearly twice as many as half as much of what I have, I could put 'em on a scale and weigh them. ;) Are we just counting knife like objects like the ones you can get on late night tv where you get 120 knives for a $126 and if you sell 10 at $12 a piece you've paid them off somthe rest were free? Are we including those? ;)

Any and all knives; some of the pics/writeups you posted are fascinating; like that old Nealy Tanto...

The younger knife nuts here could learn a thing or two. ;):D

How many you have is not very important. If you are a collector and have been doing it for years, you could probably outfit a couple of tables at a knife show and still have more to spare.

I was looking for a particular knife the other day as they tend to walk around my office or get covered up with desk junk. I collected over 50 knives from my office. Does that prove anything? Nope. It just proves that I don't pay much attention to how many knives I own and don't really care if I accumulate a large number. This of course does not count the knives I have in Rubbermaid tubs and just storing them because I never/seldom look at them.

Wow I think doing drugs will be cheaper than collecting knives at the amounts I've seen here now!

I once counted my collection. I got to 76 or so. I've slimmed it down because I felt very guilty. Some knives I'll never get rid of because they have far too much sentimental value. I'm going to be slimming down my collection again soon though. Less is more..... more money!

I thought my collection was excessive at 30 higher quality knives.

Some of you guys are intense lol!

Knives, like bullets, if you know how many you have..... you don't have enough!
I know how many I have.
