Are you certain?
Mine is sold by a Canadian company based in Ontario...but it is manufactured in China.
Yup. Certain.

The Mexican computer almost certainly contains Chinese components. ;)
That's why you don't even try to repair them. Just pull the drive, toss them, and replace them. Pretty much disposable crap for a disposable society. Junk on a shelf.

So only some of your crap is junk except for ALL of your Chinese crap. And that includes the car you drive. Now I get it.

Yeah. But it's made by people that LOOK Chinese, so it has to be crap.

(This is too much fun! I think I'm channeling George Carlin. :D )

Then you're the racist.

Yes, I can safely say the Chinese stuff in this house is basically crap. Why are you surprised --- it was made to be cheap crap.

Fun thread. :D

It has inspired me though. :)
I'm going to go for a hike now with my cheap crap (Boker Plus Bushcraft being one of the items).

It sure is!

Be careful now. Don't be tripping over any of leghog's junk out there. :D

Nice try.
You're the one bringing race into the discussion. And far as I can tell no one else cares. That says more about you than anyone else here.

Yep, you live in a world of crap all right.
You haven't a clue how or where I live. You may want to arrogantly assume you do, but that's your problem, not mine.

Well have nice life, leghog. I'm just glad I don't have to live in your world.

Thanks for making my day, and TTFN! :D

. . . or the products they make? I'm pretty sure we already know the answer to those questions. After all, facts can be so messy. Why deal with them when assumptions that support your point of view are so much easier to swallow?

It's Sinophobia again, pure and simple.

You know...you really need to stop with this word "sinophobia". Various people have a variety of reasons for not being enamoured with Chinese manufactured knives (or any products) if there are alternatives. Some are politically oriented and some are about quality issues. How would you like to be labeled a "Sinophile" just because of your position
on Chinese made knives? Not nice right?

Someone who comes in and rags on the quality of a product they've never seen or handled for the sole reason that it comes from China is a Sinophobe in my view and a liar to boot. Sorry if that disturbs you.

Why? A Sinophobe means that a person views everything and anything related or originating from China negatively. I bet there are millions of people in this country who think Chinese made (name your product) is poor quality but love Chinese food. You usage of "Sinophobe" as a defense is really just name calling, Sorry if THAT disturbs you.

Well how about if I call them cutlery Sinophobes, Ken? Would that soothe your delicate sensibilities?

Not that I'm not loving this thread, but I'm shocked it hasn't been locked yet. I mean, I wouldn't lock it... but that probably means I'd be a bad mod.

Not at all. I'm proud of the mods for NOT locking it. It gives our community a chance to look at what really hides behind a lot of the Chinese-bashing that goes on around here.

It has (and continues to be) a very interesting mix of knives, manufacturing, philosophy, and the nature of the human condition.

And it exposes those who are really in it for the knives as opposed to those who have other agendas.
