CountyComm sucks.

I'm glad the original poster had his say and even mor glad I got better info from the rest of you guys, otherwise I would never have heard about this place. I've just been surfing their website. Some interesting items in there.

Perhaps a new thread is in order? Something to turn the thread starter's thumb right-side-up? Now there's an idea!

As you were.

Bob

I had about three orders with County Comm. They have excellent service and good communication, never had any problem with them.I also have had good service from TAD as well, and have no trouble with the website.I can highly recommend both companies.I do like my TAD Cocoon sheath, made in the USA and with great quality!

Add me to the list of CountyComm fans. I've ordered from them 2-3 times with great results. I ordered from the website and shipping time was very reasonable.
I have been to TAD a couple time, but the website is hard to navigate. So I have never ordered from them. Yes I know it wouldn't take but a couple min to figure out how to nav it, but I just won't waste my time. Sorry nothing personal TAD. I also won't spend anytime on a website that has music playing on every page.

All this reminds me, I haven't checked CountyComm in a month or so. I think I'll go check them out now. :D

I've frequented both County Comm and TAD Gear on several occasions and have nothing but praise for both establishments. I've bought watches and knives from both and all my transactions went smooth as glass.

This thread seems to be a continuation of a bashing begun by TAD Gear's owner on the other forum back in Nov. In fact, the originator of this thread, "JEROK" just today posted on the same bashing thread on the TAD section of other forum. That bashing was because TAD's owner "heard" that County Comm was planning on using a "pocket clip patch" found on TAD's cargo pants without fist even inquiring with County Comm if what he heard was true or not. I have a pair of the County Comm cargo pants and the TAD feature is not there. The thread was wholy unprofessional and got rather ugly and juvenile as the dog piling continued. Just my 2 cents.

Best

It is very interesting that two similar groups of people would have such different views on the performance of a company's customer service department.

I have not ordered from County Comm, although I have considered it. I read several horror stories from friends, and passed on the info to everyone here - just as if I had heard several bad reports here about a retailer, I would tell people. Don't we do this every day?

I do have first hand experience with TAD, and find their products and service outstanding. And frankly, I find it hard to believe that anyone would prefer CountyComm's website to TADs. If CountyComm offered as many products as TAD, their website would be totally un-navigable, in my mind.

As a result of my experience with TAD, I have recommended them.

As a result of the vast gap in opinions about CountyComm, here's what I intend to do. I will place an order from them this week, and report back on this forum how it goes for me.

Frank, I don't think you accurately potray that the thread you are refering to had several detailed issues from customers, not jut TAD staff. So before you try to mark me down for believing what was written there, at least tell folks the whole story.

As for your comment Sharp Phil, you can assume I was LYING to make some point, rather than trying to spread potentially useful information, but that seems like a knee-jerk reaction to me (especially as I have never - until today - got bad rep points from people  ).

I'll report back on how my CountyComm experience goes ASAP.

Not real professional of you, to denigrate them on hearsay. If you'd mentioned that in your first post, we would have slammed you for ignorance, rather than for malice.

I don't like to comment on retailers or knives or anything that I have no personal experience with, and I don't like reading it from anyone else, either. Talk about what you know.

I can understand mentioning it in a discussion, saying you heard about problems with them, but to start a whole thread bashing them does sound like dirty tricks. And you see what kind of a completely opposite reaction you got.

Let's see -- there are "two groups of people" -- EVERYBODY ELSE and JUST YOU. You've never actually ordered anything from the company, but you claim to know what their customer service is like.

You're a liar, "Jerok."

Sharp Phil, don't be an idiot. I said that several friends had been screwed by CountyComm. If you look at Frank's post, there are issues that people have brought up elsewhere so it's not "just me" and I'm not "a liar". If I can't believe my buds elsewhere that CountyComm is bad, why should I trust your opinion on anything? I brought the info here to try and save people some grief, and was adult enough to say that I should try them myself. You just go on name calling. Classy.

No-wait. I registered in October and waited until now to hatch my evil plan. Give me a break.

You, on the other hand seem like some kind of CountyComm shill or something, reacting so over the top with the banner and seperate thread and calling me a Troll who is trying to start something in your other thread. I was going to let that slide, but it seems to me that you just like being confrontational.

Esav, I DID say in my original post that several of my friends had been screwed by them. I did noy say me. I trust their opinion, and decided to pass it on. After hearing your opinion, I have decided to give them a chance, and have already placed an order to see how it goes.

I'll let everyone else know how it goes with my order as things progress.

Yes, unnamed friends, none of whom seem to be represented here. The only issues I see brought up are the type of issues that always come up when someone engages in retail business -- and it sounds to me like the people at Countycomm have gone above and beyond the call of duty in addressing those issues.

If Countycomm provides such bad service, where are the legions of dissatisfied customers chiming in here? All I see is post after post from people who have been happy with their experiences. Compare this to, say, Botach and you'll get a mixed bag of responses from people who've had good luck and people who've had truly awful customer service experiences.

I'm being confrontational because I think you're nothing but a shill for Tad trying to further their ongoing animosity towards Countycomm. I've got nothing against Tad personally, but I can see through this obvious attempt to malign a company whose people have done nothing wrong. Just the fact that you posted here about their customer service when you've never ordered anything from them should be a red flag to anyone reading this thread. Posting negative GB&U feedback on the basis of hearsay is not the purpose of this forum and is basically dishonest, if not simply intellectually lazy.

You're a liar.

If somebody has had an unsatisfactory experience with a dealer he's very welcome to post about it here. You say "CountyComm has screwed many of my friends" -- why don't you invite your friends to come here and tell us about it?

At this point, however, even the testimony of those unnamed "friends" would be suspect, as he could just as easily put people up to it (or, more likely, manufacture new accounts himself). Looking at this thread, there is one and only one negative opinion about Countycomm -- and that's "Jerok's." Compare this to the overwhelming positive response:

I have dealt with country comm and had good service both times.

I've dealt with County Comm before and they were more than helpful.

My transaction with them went very smoothly.

I've dealt with them often and even pay by money order. all orders went smoothly. I had one shorted order but that was taken care of. They even upgraded the product.

I too must add that my few transactions with them have been flawless.

County Comm has been great

While I too like TAD, I must admit that this is the first time I've ever heard a bad word about CountyComm.

I've ordered from Countycomm probably 7-10 times with no problems and great service, as have a couple of friends(and a zillion other people on candlepowerforums)...

I have ordered from countycomm.com many times and they were always fast and very helpful.

I have ordered from Countycomm 6 times now with no trouble at all.

County Comm enjoys a reputation as a supplier of what are oftentimes obscure products, great prices, and uncommon service for one reason only: They have earned and endeavor to keep that reputation.

Only ordered from CountryComm once.from the website... smooth transaction and good stuff.

I bought 80 LED lights and a bunch of paracord from CountyComm and the transaction was flawless.

I had about three orders with County Comm. They have excellent service and good communication, never had any problem with them.

Add me to the list of CountyComm fans. I've ordered from them 2-3 times with great results.

I've frequented both County Comm and TAD Gear on several occasions and have nothing but praise for both establishments.

Thumbs up for CountyComm from me also. Quick and painless transaction.

Those quotes are all from different people, unless I copied one incorrectly. This thread was nothing but an attempt to unfairly and without evidence malign a good company. As a online retailer myself, that pisses me off.

Jerok,

1. If Sharp Phil, or others, are shilling for CountyComm, you are shilling for TAD.

2. Second hand information, minus any details, is worthless.

I'll proudly "shill" for any company from whom I get consistent, friendly service and good products. I'll also proudly "shill" for that company in order to defend it from unfounded allegations.

You COULD turn your speakers off. Just a suggestion. The TAD website is fine by me. Then again, I never surf or browse with my speakers on. I rarely turn the sound on, period. My wife, does, but she likes all the bells and whistles -- literally. :)

I have ordered from both TAD and CountyComm and had great service from each place. There are other web sites out there too that have provided good service. I have found most of these web sites through these forums and have never regretted any of them. Well, other than I have spent too much money on "stuff" since joining these forums... :p

I have used both Countycomm and TAD Gear and have nothing but good things to say about both. Actually all of my TAD experience has been with family members ordering my birthday and/or Christmas gifts. The family members that ordered are not into the same stuff I am so it could have been very confusing for them, but they were treated well and questions answered.

That said, I find it disappointing when one retailer denigrates another in public, even if it is on their forum. It just comes across as sour grapes. I know that the guys at TAD seem to feel that Countycomm copies their inventory. That's competition and that is what business is all about. Out compete them, but don't whine about it in cyberspace.

In the future I will gladly order stuff from both companies again. The amount of overlap in selection is tiny.

BTW TAD was not the first company to put out pants with reinforced pockets to reduce clip wear. I seem to remember Blackie Collins bringing out a line of jeans with the same feature as well as some others a few years ago. I don't think they went over too well because they were expensive and MOFUGLY.

About the pants with a pocket clip guard. There is a pair in Cableas catalog with a piece of leather on the pocket.Looks good and would work well, they say its for measureing tape clips.
Also looks like Wrangler has this idea patented
