Cover Shots

Thanks for the kind words.

For an article on stamped steel bolsters:

Bolster looks very good indeed! or maybe an article on genuine Pocket Worn Bone?

Not cover worthy, but trying to get my imagination in gear :)

Not cover worthy?!

See, this is why I wanted to get mine in before you started posting your amazing photography. You have the eye, skills, and equipment that leave many of us in the dust. Can't wait to see what is next.

Kind words, Doug, thank you. But I admire a lot of your shots as well as many other's on here. I am my worst critic though :)

I have maybe two or three photos out of 30,000 plus that I feel are close to perfection.

For a cover story about Good Ol' German Working Knives... ;)

I might have shown this up some time ago. More will come, for sure.

Creative thread!! Both the original idea and the postings!

Charlie...in the bottom pic you posted, what is the knife in the bottom row, to the right of the yellow stockman?..It has a clip point and wharncliffe blade...i think its beautiful......FES

I'd buy that book too!!, Charlie Especially if each knife has a dedicated page!

Nice one, Andi

Thanks, Rsmith

Kevin, that one is certainly cover worthy. Can't wait to see you next one.

Fes, that is a Hawbaker Muskrat.
Hawbaker was a Trapper/Outfitter, who had most of his knives made by Case, but a few made by other Companies. I think he had a patent on that long sheepfoot/wharncliffe style blade. I am fuzzy on the details. Maybe someone can fill us in.

This next pic would make a nice cover for a custom knifemakers Magazine.
Maybe, "Blade Brothers" ?

Richard Rogers on the left, and Bill Ruple on the right! Two great Folder makers!!

Cool stuff Gevonovich and Charlie. This is what I mean about cover shot worthy though. Just being a technically proper photo does not make it cover shot worthy IMHO. It has to have substance. The best I can relate is for the stuff I do with my brother. If its not something out of this world its not going to make a cover. It needs to be a rare discovered species or a great white breeching. I equate this in the knife world as photos such as Charlie is able to produce. Something very special and intriguing with the photographic quality being very important but not above all else :)

I look forward to seeing this thread evolve.

Kevin

This would make a great chapter in any knife book or could fill a book by itself.

KNIFE SHARPENING WITH DIAMOND SHARPENERS

Ed, you're just missing the "girl" since you have all of her best friends assembled. (Do you have to be of a certain age to get that? I sure hope not...)
