Been 14 years since I had a bottle of Pappy's (Family Reserve 20).
And though the memory is dim, I can't say I would remotely compare it to either Jack or Jim. Totally different animal.

A buddy of mine gifted me a bottle of rum for my b'day a few weeks ago. I am not a big rum fan, mostly because a lot of the rums that folks care for are simply too sweet. I have discovered though that good sipping rums are a different animal and can be quite enjoyable.
This one smells like freshly cut apples on the nose but is far dryer on the palate. Smooth and quite pleasant (my wife hates it, which isn't surprising - she isn't too keen on apple(ish) beverages).

Don't know if it's any good or not but just heard about this and, since I'm a fan, I just had to buy a couple bottles. 
Sorry, I was in a hurry & forgot to put a CPK in the pic.
The "Gold Bar" was named the "official" whiskey of the SF 49ers in 2019 and they even have a whiskey bar at Levi Stadium. The "Original" version of this bourbon won a Double Gold Medal at the 2016 SF World Spirits Competition in 2016.
This is a special edition which commemorates "The Catch" that Dwight Clark made which cinched the Niners' win over the Cowboys in the 1982 NFL NFC Championship game and which gave the Niners the opportunity to win the 1st of its 5 Superbowls.
Out of stock at the distrillery but available at a couple places in The City (that's San Francisco). So, I drove into town (about 150 miles RT) to pick these up after I ordered them online.
Doesn't look like I needed to rush, since they had a whole display case full of the stuff, but some people online are complaining that they can't find/buy any.

BTW, while it looks like a box, the "gold bar" is actually the bottle. They won a prize for designing the bottle in this way in 2016 too.

First time I have had it...and ermahgerd...it's my absolute new favorite. I had it neat.
It's everything that Quarter Cask offers but better exponentially, imho.

They weren't putting out Eagle Rare, McKenna or any of the other highly sought out bottles until 5 pm today.I should of grabbed some Eagle Rare on the way home but totally spaced it. The warden would of been upset anyways, me and whisky are a good time
I wasn't gonna go back, for one,...and not waiting on some ridiculously long line of crazed Bourbon aficionados for another.
So, that's why I picked up two bottles of bourbon I'd never tried previously.
