EMCEE I hope you and the missus are having an epic time. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us.
This stuff is really good. I got two bottles of it so I felt ok with the dent I put into the one pictured this last weekend. How is their consistency from batch to batch? The two bottles I have are from the same batch so I can't test that out myself currently.
What I've had of the 4-grain, it's pretty consistent. IIRC, they've sourced the corn and barley from the same farms even, since they started making that one. I think they've been making that one for ~10 years now, and the most recent bottle I've sampled still reminds me of the first one I tried ~6 or 7 years ago. I haven't had enough of the bonded version to make the same claim for that one, but I can't imagine it would be much different. Same whiskey, aged a bit longer.
I hate how much the price has increased since I started drinking it though. It was in the 30's back then, and has nearly doubled now. Their Bonded Centennial wheated is on my short list to try soon, but it's ~$80, which is a bit up there.
ETA - I almost forgot! I had the opportunity to try their malted out of a sampler pack at a Christmas party. Excellent!!! It's surely not a Scotch, but there were nuances of a Highland present. I don't know what a 750ml costs, but I'm keeping my eyes open...
