I "liked" this but because I wasn't really sure how else to react to that
Just wouldn't have time to spend with another dog (house train, etc.). I plan on spending a lot of time upland hunting and waterfowl hunting this fall.

I've owned multiple Chihuahuas in my life and just love the breed. This is my first hunting dog (Pudelpointer) and he's as much work as I thought it would be.

And they just do this by instinct?
The pointing is instinctual, it's amazing to see them freeze and not move a muscle when they smell a bird. But he has also had a good amount of bird dog training for commands, steadiness, etc. He's a versatile breed, so he also retrieves birds like ducks and geese on the water after you shoot them. It's really nice not having to jump into the boat and retrieve ducks since you won't spook any others that may be nearby.
