This kind of thing makes me really nervous!
Seems to me like the law of unintended consequences may rear its ugly head.
Humane treatment of animals is of paramount concern here, or we’ll lose our privileges, but what’s the plan going forward?
Anyone talk to Ms. Grandin or Ms. Goodall about their thinking in all this?

I dated a young lady who was so enamored with J. Goodall, she got a gorilla tat on her leg, and centered her education around biology….then, became an investment banker. Don’t ask me!🤷‍♂️
 
Little Truffles crossed over the Rainbow Bridge a few hours ago. He was almost 17 1/2 and had been with me since he was a wee tiny kitten at ~ 8 weeks old. We both felt at peace and he transitioned very peacefully while I was by his side throughout, kudos to our great vet and his staff. The pic below is an older one but his face remained just as cute till quite recently when he started going downhill fast. IMO, he had earned the honor of being a called a CPK-Pet because he was such a good kitty. RIP little Truffles.

I am very sorry for your loss. That photo shows a lot of personality! I am glad you were with him at the end. Animals are so much better than most people- really hurts to lose them.
