Jo the Machinist I have to ask, is your avatar based on one of the characters from the Redwall book series? Maybe Martin or Mariel? My kids loved the audiobooks when they were little.

EDITED BECAUSE AUTOCORRECT THOUGHT REDWALL WAS REDIAL. It used to be that if you capitalize the word in the middle of a sentence, it would not try to auto correct - now it tried rewall instead, big fail now.

My mom's dad was on the Aircraft Carrier USS Cowpens and my dad's dad was a truck driver in Europe for the Army.

Outstanding Jo, you have two hugs coming now.

My mom’s side….My grandfather was a dough boy in WWI. Four great uncles jumped into Normandy. My mom’s cousin lost an arm in WWII.

My dad’s side …During WWII, one uncle was a driver in Europe, two other uncles were sailors, unsure if they were Atlantic or Pacific fleet. My aunt, who was married to the driver, assembled torpedo fuses during in the war effort here at home. My dad was armor in Korea for two tours. Finally, one brother was end of Vietnam era Army.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for men like your grandfathers, can’t wait to meet you.
